Started this up to see if there was enough gas to heat up lunch. A big Ole mouse nest almost caught on fire. Smoked me out of the blind! OND just mentioned one exploding. I cleaned it out. Works well now. Stay safe my friends. Ice got scarface and horny doe 40 yards in front of me. Saw a 2.5 yo 8 a little after daylight.

Yes that is my urinal! 20231115_091023.jpg 20231115_090422.jpg

Just arrowed a buck, looked like an 8. He snuck in from behind me, downwind. By the time I got turned around, he bolted down the hill.
I drew and stopped him, I’m not even sure where I hit, center mass I think. He jumped at the shot.
Last I saw him, he was cresting over a hill, arrow still in him. He was slowed to a walk, doing the “super fast tail wag”.
I think he’s dead, but giving it some time.
Hope I didn’t screw this one up

when they’re walking drunk and wagging their tail super fast like that, usually it’s a dead deer.
    Correct???

Seems like you would have passed through if ...center of mass.

Quick tail wags are a good sign.

    Be patient!

You know I will be down there at some point.

Guys he lives in some awesome country! I was down there a little over a month ago. My mom has a house about 30 or 40 miles from him. Very diverse variety of animals to chase. Can't wait til I can get down and hunt and hang out!

True, but I think when he took off, it ended up quartering. But I didn’t hear that rib cage “pop”.
Hoping that it hit the opposite leg

My 8 did the exact same thing. Bolted got to ridge back end swaying and his tail was down and going a hundred miles an hour. He walked off and was dead just yards over our line...before driving away...dead deer

So I'm back. Phone was sitting patiently waiting on kitchen counter.
Left super early , cold quiet and slight sw breeze. Heard nothing saw nothing . Always carry cards to switch out on way back. One had a fox the other "applecoons" that would be coons so fat ...HUGE and drunk on rotting apples they can barely walk. I dare say one has to be tipping 50#'s! Seriously his head looks like a base ball attached to a medicine ball. I tried getting pic out but stupid and tired managed to clear card before copying it.
So synic that I am...more realistic... hhhmmmm
Just 3 days before Sat. Morning gun opener around here. All kinds of new posted signs appearing, road traffic with never seen cars before increased, cams down to nill and hunt sightings worse. Let's just say if I go to pick up chicken food, TSC will have empty pallets and shelves in a particular area.

Best of luck on the track FEB.
Also think it's a dead deer, quick tail wagging is usually a good sign. I'd give it some time, think I'd give it two hours no matter what. Then check blood trail a bit, if dark blood like liver, then give it a good 5-6 hours.
