Well thats a wrap for my “pre shotgun” deer season. Back to work for 2 days then gunseason with the family. After that we all know its a dumpster fire gone bad but late season still makes for some great hunting thats for sure. Good luck all you killers and congrats to @Slugger @Logman and whoever else killed. @bucksnbears your friend sounds awesome. I hope im still grinding at 81 but ill probably be worm food by then. Wish you both the best luck on the track looks like a nice buck and another great memory. Shoot strait, aim for the utilities and most importantly be SAFE you all! Ill be rooting you all on from my desk!
Thanks Shocker!. He's just the best man God has created. A super strong Christian man that keeps me in touch when things aren't going the way I wished they would. Always positive and he's been a Huge influences in my life. Kinda funny. This morning, he said he wasn't going hunting today. I asked why? He said he Just figured he'd take the day off. I put my arm around him, squeezed him and said, " you must think you have alot of November's left". I have quite a few stands set up and was adiment he gets out get it one. Probably been the best year for #s of good quality bucks I've ever seen here. There is one stand I haven't sat in this year but from watching deer the past 2 weeks, I knew it needed to be sat in. That's where he went. Every summer he comes out and we go to every stand I have, he climbs up and instructs me on any limb that needs trimming. He has a ball doing that. (So do i) Sorry for the long derail but he's everything a MAN should be. We've been on many bloodtrails together and Lord willing, we got many more.
Fat plugged the hole but she only ran 35-40 yards! At home and hanging. Best part was I saw a brute of a buck, maybe 140-150 8 point, biggest I've ever seen while hunting come out of the thick stuff after I was grunting. He went into the thick stuff and was only visible for 10-15 yards and never got closer than 55 yards. He had a doe locked down for sure as I couldn't get him to come back out for nothing!
Up base dressed and decided to have some coffee before going out in a drizzle and switching wind going from SW to NW and gusting. Not sure where I'm going but will be out in a bit. Good luck all
