Checked my cams when I got home from NJ today at about 11. My #1 VT daylighted at 0719 this morning. Went by two of my cameras, went by one stand at 10yds and another at 20yds, then stood around and ate some apples. Gonna have to get after him. Cell cam is set up. Hes a 3 1/2yr old 5x3.. his sons been around too. 1 1/2yr old basket 4x3. They have been around, mostly at night since the 4th.
PS. I'll only shoot him. Have about 6 small Bucks and the same number of Doe running around. Hes the only shooter . Only had him on camera once this summer. Had two other shooters though regularly but they disappeared in October and havent seen them since.
All setup for the afternoon. Oak is stretching the limits of my sticks. Wind is perfect. Setup in a pinch about 20 feet up in the 1st layer of canopy. At ground level it is thick with lots of small growth. Sent from my SM-G990U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I’ve been up about 30 minutes. I’ve seen a 3 point, doe and a fawn already. Temperature sure has changed. It was 26 degrees this morning and now it’s 54. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I’m up sitting in the box blind. The wind is shifting around so this is the best spot for that. Not expecting much but at least I’m out here. Good luck everyone!
Haha yea it was pretty embarrassing to say the least. You should have seen the look this squirrel gave me. He was embarrassed for me.
I just mo ed to a stand that is middle way to where all the action was. With this N wind i may be able to pull it off. Its good but every so often it gets a little squirrly and swirls.
There must be a hot doe in the swamp about 150 yards in front of me. There’s 2 bucks going at it for several minutes Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
@Slugger , congrats on the doe, you sure did make quick turn around with her and back in a tree. Now double up.
I'm up where I wanted to be this morning. The wind shifted and it's pretty good for this stand. The stand overlooks a doe bedding area and my brother in law shot a 9pt here the other night. Funny thing is even after all the commotion and disturbance we made getting the buck out, there were bigger bucks using the same trail later that same night. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
Here's a pic from this morning as one of the small bucks passed by me at 25yds. If you look in the far right hand of the pic you'll see me sitting there Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
In old reliable1 first afternoon sit. Taken several afternoon buck here and at R2.so many doe as well. A steady w wind to my rt and back sun over my rt shoulder. Working on down in morning up at night. Even in heavy leaf cover I followed good trail that went straight to bottom of ladder so I know something is hanging around here. I'll probably sit and watch the doe pile in at stand I was in last night 200yrds down laneway. At least I can barely hear the dogs. A cross wind could see something come up out of the gully through neighbors woods to us. I normally have the laneway cleared of leaf cover. I decided to do very little leaf blowing this year. We also had a seriously late drop. I also didn't plant this end . Next year
I seen one of the bucks that was in that fight. 115” 8 point came by at 20 yards but he has a very bloody right eye. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
