I didn't have a buck over 1.5 on my place when EHD hit 3 years ago. Finally age structure coming back this year.

Morning AM deer slayers. Little more inspiration for all of us who are getting our asses kicked by the deer this guy works for my hunting buddy. We were all texting back and forth about how dead it was and trying to play scientists and act like we know why the deer just arent moving when low and behold this brute stepped out in front of this guy. Thats all there is to it. Can go from zero to death row in .5 seconds. facebook_1699823477749_7129576412018390323_161481706647513.jpeg Then i get a text from my neighbor who killed a nice one after seeing a spike buck all day this one popped out.
721521717.jpeg So keep your hopes up guys and gals. This is all part of the game!

Ok anyway thats my inspirational speech for this morning. :tu:

Im deciding between 2 stands for this mornings sit. My brain is telling me to hunt a stand by where the Grateful 8 has been hanging out. I need to get that giant i bumped yesterday out of my head and just hunt. Got pics of him (Grateful 8)last night back in the big draw IMG_5532.jpeg IMG_5531.jpeg but the wind will not be good for that spot. I do have another stand that might be good but its more of evening spot. I think im headed to other side of farm to the honey hole. Its a spot right off the driveway that is very thick and secluded. My mind is made up. Time to head for the ace up the sleeve (driveway spot). Heading in soon as im done typing this. Should be sitting quiet on stand with an hour till shooting time. Good luck everyone. And big congrats to those who killed yesterday! Havent had time to catch up all the way

Getting ready to walk in. I don't have the wind that was forecast so I can't hunt the stand I really wanted to go to. But the one I'm headed to has been the most productive one I've had on this property over the years. Good luck all.

Man this 26 degrees morning has them on their feet. I’ve seen a spike, 4 point, doe and 2 fawns. Hopefully daddy shows up.

Good luck out there today all.
I'm off to the processors this morning to drop off my doe. Then I may do a sit mid-day or an evening hunt.
