My brother and my nephew are on stand and they are reporting the same thing: Nothing. I told them to stay on stand until at least noon. I know deer will move from 10:15 to 12:15. Perhaps not where they are, but they will move while the new moon is overhead. I know a lot of folks don't put any stock in lunar phases. I just know what I've seen in the past.
Good morning over here so far. Seen 8 deer, little bucks cruising, 2 unknowns. Passed a chip shot on a young doe, tempting but just too scrawny. A spike and forky were chasing a little doe all over the place, could have killed both of them. Just waiting on a shooter
Got a good buck in the thicket where my doe crashed. Through a grunt at him and he turned my way. Lost for now. But he is there
Haven’t seen a thing, giving it a little longer then heading out to throw some ribs on the smoker and have some Sunday beers lol
Well thank you all! Fun hunt as usual. Just pulled into my driveway. Long drag from swamp to field. I stashed the buck along the field. Had about 500 yards from there to my truck. I brought a cart today, so went back and got that and did the whole trip out and back again. Thing is the drag doesn't bother me anymore, feel very rewarding and is just part of the hunt. Now to hang him and decide if I will break him down today and get him in the cooler. He had a huge head and body on him, I was impressed with the size of him! Good luck to everyone today! Got another buck on Missouri rifle opener for the cherry on top. Heading back to New Mexico now with plenty of Missouri deer meat and 2 heads to boil for euro mounts. Not a bad trip Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
my goodness lol took me 2.5 hours to go thru about 40 pages. Ive been out with no cell service and still nothing to show for it lmao. Im kinda waiting for gun season in MN to be over and hit late season. like many here, morale is getting low. Congrats to all the killers, there were too many to congratulate all haha
At my youngests request I just put in my first deer stew in the crockpot. About 8 to 10 hrs it should be done. Life is good.
Congrats on the Veterans Day buck. I will be in south Missouri for work the first week of December and gonna bring my bow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
