So I'm out ,my two cold sits yesterday tore up my hips and back. Cramps started and I took a hot shower at midnight to relax things.. nope every leg movement was a fight against bad cramps across lower back and down legs..
So in bed and I hear A.J. coon howling ,hubbby yelling and he's calling me. Finally comes up and excitedly tells me how monster buck just ran up and through our front yard headed up hill through cut corn along hedge row with a tiny buck in tow.
Oh well he's alive and a day sighting. I would have been a 1/4 mile away regardless. Will be out later I hope, so tired.
At least hubby knows my sightingss aren't "fish stories" lol
He never gets too excited about deer, this one got him going

Never had that happen, not the retention fail.possible fat/sinue at that little tab?

But dealing with/removing a broken blade always gives me the heebie-jeebies. I usually use a multi tool or pair of needle nose pliers to remove/replace blades.

Get some electolytes, pickles or mustard...should help with the cramps. A few ibuprophen or your favorite other otc pain relief remedy will have you ready for the evening sit

i'm just pointing out my track record on not killing deer anytime I put my name in a contest. Points ( head gear ) mean little, other than in letting young buck walk. Which stops when I need the meat. Pouty face is watching deer so close not close enough passing on the doe with twins because of having a 4 to 1 buck to doe situation. Then doe I will shoot infront of me 50 ft not feeding in until dark.
Not sure it's gotten through in my personality but deer hunting isn't just a Oh how fun the states letting me go kill something. I am literally a meat hunter it's a bit of a job to me. Once a year I get a chance to fill my freezer. Unlike many I'm in the woods around these animals year around everyday. So until I have a deer any deer that doesn't go against my standards ( as long as possible) I'll mope all I want. Especially since watching my first kill drive away in someones truck.

Been settled for 30 minutes. Had 100 inch 8 trail 2 does past me. Past him but the smaller doe caught a bolt at 35 yards. Heard her crash about 100 yds away. Reloading and hunting some more.
