    Almost go time. I plan to be hunting Saturday and will keep you all updated. Always a good feeling when your back in the tree for the first time of the year!     Work until 1:30 today and then heading to elk camp. Always excited like a kid at Christmas the first time out, hoping to get into some but mainly going to take their temperature this weekend and do some scouting. The logging up there moves them around a bit every year. Hunting partner can't go this weekend so I'll be hunting solo. Semi-live, spotty cell service unless up high.
    Finally! Elk season is here.

    Very accurate… what a morning, between dad and I we ended up seeing about 10 deer, I got busted by a group of really nice bucks including a full velvet 8pt probably close to 120in….. at 30 yards, didn’t realize there were 6-7 bucks I only saw three and went to turn when they weren’t looking but I guess the others were… oh well off to the private land for the evening to see if I can make it happen on the big 8 from last night or the velvet 10
