It goes in 4 rounds and you can get any unit that is available, once 4th round is over I believe you can buy OTC on remaining tags you can “only” possess 6 doe tags.

They limit the number of licenses available? That is stupid for residents. I get it if they do that to nonresidents.

You are right, though this is more than that and I'm glad you brought that up.
    PLEASE READ
I just watched " LIVIING TRADITIONS " on you tube. he was able to describe exactly what I went and still to a point am going through after the tick bite. It's something anyone live from a stand should watch. We both have arthritis so I think that's why it's spot on the same. I also feel a certain vac. Lowered my immunity which has caused the hand issue, which is not just old age. To that daughter, only 40, has been having health issues ever since vac. Drs. can't diagnose, other than a sudden allergy to seafood, maybe.

Ticks are carrying many diseases and you can not completely treat them so even with spaying and precautions ALWAYS USE THE BUDDY SYSTEM TO TICK CHECK. Stay safe guys

They changed it to an online doe license sale and retail store sale. Years prior we had to send in an envelope with a check and preferred WMU area for a doe tag. But each WMU has an allocated amount of doe tags and when they run out there out.

As a tech nerd, tag draws (along with 'black Friday sales') are two of the best, yet under-utilzed, cases for a cloud computing solution.

Unrelated...and more on topic, here's a deer pic from the back yard last night..my black snouted/ split eared doe is easy to recognize.

Interesting reading about PA changes. NC is rolling out a mobile app (welcome to 2023, morons) and there is no way to purchase a game license, nor register a boat now till July 1. GOs aren't even citing people for no license for a few days. Lol. Looking forward to the new process tho. I miss the way MO does all that.

Missouri does have a great system. The only thing I don't like is that as a nonresident you have to pick a specific archery or gun tag, can't hunt both seasons with the same license. If you want to hunt both, have to buy both at the nonresident rate. I wish you could just pay a set price for a set number of tags and hunt any open season. Arkansas does that, and offers lower cost licenses for hunts that last only 1, 3, or 7 days if a person doesn't want to buy the full license. Fewer tags come with those limited time licenses since they are lower cost.

Missouri is actually ahead of a decent amount of states in this regard.

Holy Crap! Another season is almost here!

So excited to get back to the grind after whitetail. Need to put out cameras to take inventory and see if anything good is out and about.

This thread as usual is already off to a hot start. Time to catch up already.

Hope you all have a safe rest of your summer!

Just started a cam yesterday at the mulberry tree. Day and night several doe just hammering them . No fawns in tow though. I'd post but did an oippss and they were video so I deleted after viewing. Changed the cam so if batteries hold I'll try again tomorrow. That cam sit right at the end of garden. Checking it is no biggie because der even Buckman use to my presence. Pretty sure they just watch me from the woods

Road tripping through Buffalo, WY and stopped for dinner earlier this evening. Out of curiosity, mapped the location to Big Horn Outfitters (if you know, you know BHOD). We ate at a Mexican place that was 300 yards down the road. So I swung by thinking I could grab a quick pic at the business sign since it was in the evening and post it here. Turns out the offices/ranch appear to be either Decroo’s or his business partner’s home in addition to the business. So I just turned around and got back on the highway. I didn’t want to bother either one of them with their families in the evening. Cool looking place from what I saw in the driveway. The totem pole is a nice touch.

The Farmer / neighbor planted soy beans instead of corn this year in the field where I have a ladder stand. First time in 20 + years I've been here.

Any ideas on when I should be in that stand. I know when to be there for the corn but the beans new to me!!!

    ???????

I snuck out and checked out the farmers new beans last night. There was a parade of big deer about in the middle,1/4 mile away. Leaving pines browsing his beans then straight across his cut hay to the next field of beans.

I'm not an expert, but my experience is early season, the deer will hammer it till it yellows up. Then late season when the beans dry up "on the vine", they hammer them again.

Oh and they usually show up pretty late in early season, so find their travel route and try to set up where they might stage up before they commit to the bean field. Could be a green spot or some thicket with briars or woody browse. Somewhere leading into a corner of the beans.

This is what I’ve observed over the years, but it’s my belief that it has nothing to do with the soybeans yellowing. I think it’s just that when the beans start turning yellow that’s when acorns start to drop and deer seem to prefer acorns over soybeans.

Once the mast crop starts to dwindle they’ll hit the bean fields again.

Corn fields are a different story.

Seriously though, it usually starts the second week of July. Of course, there’s nothing saying I couldn’t start it earlier…..

The landowner where I have permission to hunt is planting corn in one field and millet in another. He usually has all his stuff harvested before our October 1st opener. Does anyone have experience hunting around millet? These properties are doe factories I never catch a good buck snooping around just 4ptrs. 58F89D53-35BB-461C-B2F2-0F252B6D6354.jpeg 40B766CE-D339-44DA-986E-01CCB672F0FF.jpeg
