    2 does 2 fawns in the swamp. Where all the bucks. Maybe locked down already? I’ve seen a lot of does and fawns today and 0 bucks.

    I got down. Not risking a few extra minutes in a stand when you can actually hear the zwiiiiiimg of a bullet and branches falling right next to you.

    Just took a shot at an 8 point. Sounded like lung pop, I think he crashed not to far.

    I talked with a turkey and watched a dozen squirrels. Listened to a pair of wood peckers...phone wont take my spelling for them, huge red headed.
    Then at close, 5:24 I was walking home. When I hear crack! A crossbow release from. The area neighbor put a stand at our far corner. PHONE SAYS 5:28. ,ETHER WAY PRETTY DARK. I didn't hear a deer but THAT wouldn't be as loud as the bow crack.
    Now I pray the big boys show up on my cams tonight on.

    So 3:10 that shooter buck does what I told you he did… never see him again tonight.

    About 4:15 I see a big doe coming from behind right of me and she is being followed… by a bigger doe… they walk 10 yards away all the way to my front left… and they stand there for 20 minutes without moving… the one is looking back from where they came from and the huge doe is looking down the gas line.

    20 minutes… I could have killed that big doe and I wanted to but it was the perfect setup.

    Sure enough a small buck comes from behind me to my left and meets the does… quick sniff and a little grunt and he kinda just walks a little past them. I could have skewered him.

    Now it’s starting to get dark but before he left completely, here comes a better buck from the gas line… they spar a little and the little one moves on and the bigger ones heads my way… the does move to my left side now and he is with them but I could not make him big enough in my mind.. he was wide to his ears but not high at all…

    They won’t leave.. now it’s so dark I can barely make the buck out who is 15 yards broadside to me.. so I was stuck in the tree till they finally moved on… it’s pitch black out.

    I go home and make some backstraps from my doe that I killed last month and enjoy a fine meal with a fine woman… it was a good day and I am truly blessed

    About 1000 squirrels and three turkeys for me. No deer. Back to the Farm tomorrow. Going to hunt from 1000 to dark. At least I know there are Doe at the Farm. Sooner or later a bigger buck needs to cruise through. They cant all be dead.
