I am in. I moved 75 yards NE of where I hunted Thirsday last week and saw two nice bucks. I will kill either one if the come in. 65 and temp dropping all day. Let’s go!
Good luck out there this morning guys! I’ll be glued to a computer screen doing more learnings and trainings on the new job all day.. woke up to this picture… can’t wait for Saturday
Yep alarm went off . I wake to it roaring out there. 15mph winds and torrential down pour. Went back to bed for a bit. Things just starting to calm down but windy. Late morning afternoon today Thanks to all that replied to question. I Do wonder is it the computer or the person entering data, that they just can't get it right. I'm considering just mailing them a box of my milk weed with instructions.
Last Friday and Saturday, the big buck bedded on this island across the creek, 40 yards west of me. There is a mock scrape 42 yards south of me and thick riverbottom cover in front of me.
damn those pics @Shocker99 and @cantexian .....I can smell death in the air today.....I think today is the day for multiple buck kills on here!!!!
Thanks this whole Irish. Superstition thing , has a bases...lol This year a tad worse than others when joining a contest. It's just hunting in the scheme of things with the thing going on next Friday. I can't blame the contest for the weather, I've talked about the rain all summer in the garden thread. I can't blame the contest for my old age either. My mind may still be working in a 30 yr old set but the body wants to continually remind me I'm nearly 66. Heh 66 I some times feel like I've been run over as much as 66 , hahaha Lately on stand I run things over in my mind and wonder how many more years will I be able to descend and climb these hills in full gear, climb those 16-22ft ladders, drag a buck 3 1/2 hrs up a hill at camp or even a 1/4 mile here. Shovel a 300ft double wide drive way by hand, leaf blow 2 miles of trails etc, etc. The answer is bluntly, until one of them kill me. That is my happy thought and how life should be. Pushing life until the very end and not just existing in it
I just watched a public land brute walk by at 83 yards. He’s headed down into my valley. The thermals must be in my favor. He crossed my scent stream without catching my scent. I can’t believe it. I’m less than 400 yards from camp.
Well, if the rain doesn’t ruin my attempt to sit all day, I may be getting down around 2:30 to get my wife from work and kids from school. She couldn’t find her keys this morning. Neighbor took them.
I still remember exactly where I was when I read that post… outside the moose club waiting to meet up with a coworker, I had to catch up on like 20 pages of congrats…
