Watched a good 8 pt chase a doe for about an hour this evening. Saw 6 in all. Nothing presented a shot. She drug him to 40 yds twice but there was no shot at the spot she brought bc of brush/branches. Super fun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Saw a total of 15 deer today and 9 of them were 25 yards or less.....All 1.5 and 2.5 yo bucks and 1 single mature doe - I will be back out in morning to try again
Nice double Holt. Those are always fun. Good luck DMen. Blood looks good. Did not know it was gonna rain today but it did. All my clothes were wet. Figured, heck, I can endure a bit of pain... not, Have had trouble with to many deer lately when I've been getting ready so today I went in at about 1:45ish. At 3:30, a fawn came by looking back. A new buck I've not seen before was on her tail. A Dandy 5x5. Not a high scoring buck but had thick, dark antlers. He looked old and de0cided I'd take him. My limit is 30 yards and when he gave me a perfect broadside, I drew, settled the pin but I felt he was a bit farther and didn't feel comfortable. ( I'm not a great archer). Let down and they walked away. Next 15 minutes, 5 bucks and 1 fawn came by. By then I was getting cold. Temps about 35* I knew there was no way I could last the next 1.5 hours so I climbed down and slowly walked back to the cabin. Got to my deck, was just getting ready to kick off my boots and a fawn came running up from the river into my pumpkin plot, spun and ran back towards the river. I seen another deer coming, seen a decent/ dark rack and he came out, 20 yards behind my truck. My thought was " it's that new 5x5) Grabbed my bow, snuck down the steps, thinking, there's know way this is gonna work. Lol. He had his head buried in a pumpkin. Got to about 18 yards, he turns quartering away and I buried an arrow right at the top of his heart. He dropped In his tracks!!, Started thrashing, regained his feet, hobbled about 15 yards and tipped over dead about 15 feet from my beloved dog Roscoes grave. He's 4x5 I've seen several times and had no intention of shooting him this year but it happened so fast, I was convinced it was the 5x5 from earlier. Big bodied fella. Guessing a 4.5 year old. No matter. The way it all unfolded, I'm happy as heck. I'll show a few pics of the sequence on how it went down.
Dammit. Sorry for all the double takes? Tail gate pic is where I shot. 1/2 eaten pumpkin/ blood is where he dropped. Cabin in the background shows the miserable 50 yard drag to the deer skinning pole. Lol.

I am at my family’s trailer near Kentucky Lake, I am 200 yards from my stand. Will be further if I move it after tomorrow mornings hunt but not more than about 500 yards max. TV options are limited here so Iam watching the Hunger Games for motivation. This girl can shoot! Ha ha ha Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I almost commented earlier that I bet you shot him from the porch in the pumpkin plot because he wasn't field dressed. But, a lot of people are against dressing them where they fall and thought maybe you had some sort of atv. Meat in the freezer and another rack for the stack. Congrats again
