check out The Hunting Public's tips/hacks video from this year. Kid glued a metal washer to his ranger and then a magnet to his bino pouch. Cool idea and you could do several variations of this.

I also just attach mine to the side of my bino chest pouch. Rangefinder came with a pouch that has a belt loop on the back. My bino chest rig has quick detach clips on the ends of the bottom straps, so I run the right side bottom strap through the rangefinder pouch belt loop and then clip it to the bino rig. Rangefinder pouch has a magnetic closure, I can get them out and put them back one handed.

is that what it is? I have noticed Swyping accuracy has also gone to complete crap the past year or so. Tech is regressing.

Sounds like elk hunting is not the only thing that gets him too excited.

Adversity is the name of the game when hunting public. Adapt and overcome. Our best 2 spots from last year are now leased out as cattle pastures. Scouted each and found 0 deer sign and a ton of cows. We’ve been scouting since and have found a spot/game plan for tonight. Got the ok from private landowner to hunt whatever I want again and checked that out. Lot of beans but no real opportunity to set up early season. Have scoured numerous spots with amazing draws with mature oaks and none of them have acorns. Our 2 best spots with cows all oaks were loaded.

Got to see a nice herd of elk at daybreak.

If we don’t have anything happen tonight we have another area 2 hours away we know has produced before.

It feels good to be back in a tree stand. It’s opening day of bear season in Minnesota and I was lucky enough to draw a tag. I just wish we weren’t going to have a high of 98 over the next few days.

Moral of the story today is: sometimes you just have to ask/talk. Wanted to hunt a refuge but it’s technically landowner property. Because it was marked with no trespassing we couldn’t hunt it. Knocked on the guys door but he wasn’t home. Luckily he had a ring doorbell… gave us permission right away. Now we have access to 40 acres of oaks and beans. “Oh deer, go for it I see bucks in the field all the time. As long as you don’t shoot elk go wherever.

Had a medium sized bear come in right underneath me. That’s always cool when you can seee them that close. Hour and a half to go.
