What a drought the south is having. That grounds looks identical to everything I am seeing in Arkansas if it is not within several yards of water; bone dry.
It's been 6 years since I killed a buck. I said that I was killing the first legal buck that would give me a shot. I've passed up bigger bucks in that time of 6 yrs. This buck is just what I needed. I am thrilled with this buck. I've have put a lot of effort to hunt this property over the 2 yrs I've hunted it. I promised the farmer that I would shoot as many deer as I have tags. One more doe tag to go. Here is to just hunting.

Hit mid way up. Just little back. Come out guts. I hit a rib, I heard the pop of the rib also. Didn't know it at the time. Guts plugged it up. I watched him drop.
