Congrats RR! I’m glad it all worked out for the best, great buck! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'm out. That's it for this NJ trip. Maybe back on Thursday. Night ended with the same 4pt chasing a Doe right under the stand and an unknown deer at 40yds while I was packing up.
Oh! The shot was high and he was quarted to worse than I remembered. Looked like 1 lung, liver and possibly clipped gut. Exit was mid body. Gnarly wound. Sadly the meat will have to feed the Coyotes. Sucks. I'm dry on meat, so I gotta shoot me some does. On to the Ozarks in the morning
I got out later than I wanted, forgot about that hour deficit. Man I had thoroughly scrubed the deer freezer and temps are going to 31 to night. Went to stand by way of road to stay quiet ....saw zip. Now I did learn something. I will not be call or rattling the rest of season. The guys in pines behind me, well I honestly can't describe the noises he was making with some sort of rattler and , have a hard time saying , grunt call. Oh my like sitting in a room full of first time instrument players.
Thanks for all the congrats the shot turned out to be a double lung I thought it was a heart shot but no marks on it i really needed that confidence boost after my screwup Friday I just need to remember to take my time and aim small and low Friday I just put the pin behind the shoulder and squeezed the trigger not really aiming just in a hurry just need to calm down Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
This thread is so awesome and addicting! So great to see everyone supporting each other in success and defeat, with plenty of laughs along the way.
I hope it never changes. I've been a bit less active here this year and I'm sure I missed a ton of stuff. By far my favorite thread
