Just took A. J for a zoom session and moved a cam over a scrape I've been watching. It's getting hit hard right now. Yesterday's hunt took me on a 3/4 mile hike down hill over two streams. One a cascading water fall with steep sides. Then there was the hike back up.

Hubby looked at my calves as I stood washing dishes last night. Exclaims " My God look at those calves! ( He like his dad has skinny legs)They are bigger than my thighs and sold muscle! Yep that would be the mountain goat in me. I'm constantly moving, thus my issue with sitting.

Big body deer way off in the timber. I gave it a rattle. I’m getting down in 30.

Got to the top of the ridge where I shot pin cushion and saw a real nice buck about 60 yards away he was crosswind of me and taking a dump kind of quartering away he never saw me. I backed away slow took cover where I could barely just not see him tried a few grunts and he wouldn't commit. He slowly eased off. The wind has died down a lot so I backed out I don't want to push him

It actually use to be like that here a few years ago. Then came the shoot all the doe craze on hunting videos and DEC allowing up to 6 doe. Guys trying to fill everyone in a heavily hunted area. Not thinking how many others were doing the same. Then add coyote, big increase of bear and fisher release, that have bred well.

Just saw a spike. He was about 40 yards and walking at a steady gate. Thought it was big doe until he stepped into a sunny spot.

After yesterdays all day sit we had deer camp at a buddies house. 14 beers, a few whiskeys, too many deer stories, and bedtime at 3am. Did not wake up for my alarm and slept at his place.

My friend gets a call this morning from his neighbor saying they shot a buck and it was on his property. Go out there and it’s a 140” 10pt. The wife shot it and spined it… 80yds off of their property line. Decided to be civil about it and helped the husband get the buck but jeez. I hate people sometimes. Don’t shoot things not on your property. How hard is that.
