We had an unknown deer go flying by at 120 yards about 10 minutes ago. Then, a second shot. Public land
He had to have something nontypical. Nope not colorblind. I told them last night if i shot one i would come get them so they could track it. 3rd shot was a kill shot on spine shot for the doe fawn.
I had a good evening sit. Had a couple does and a small buck work in. That attracted the attention of a fantastic buck. He was at ten yards on the opposite side of the tree in seconds. I tipped off the doe as I drew my bow. He spooked a little and stopped at 25 yards but I had no shot. He slowly wandered off and the doe worked off in his direction. Almost, try again in the morning. Rainy, nasty day here today. May go out for a morning sit tomorrow. Being such a nasty day, I decided to work on a project I’ve had in mind. The elk this September was the Solution’s first kill besides a couple grouse, so I shaped some cuts off the base of that little bull for some inserts. A little rough but not real bad for my first try. Best of luck to all that still have enough shootin light.
