Close Saw a little 6 point Saw 5 fawns Had a bigger buck cruise through...way too quick Awesome shot dmax!
Damned fine old buck Tom. Snuff, great effort. Dmax. Dandy doe. Got a shot at the big 7 at 5 30. He was with a smaller doe. She crossed 22 yards away. He followed her about 1 minute later. I " assumed", he was on the same trail. I @ssumed wrong. Shot and seen arrow go low. Piles of white hare, nothing on the arrow. Came back to the cabin, undressed, cracked a beer, looked out and he was back in the clover plot about 30 yards from where he got the haircut. After 40+ years and over 200 deer, at what point does one run out of rookie mistakes?
If that doesn’t put salt in a wound. At least you know that you didn’t booger him up to bad. There’s always tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Wow, quite the day in here! Congrats Shocker, Dmax, and LC (again). Dammit I can't wait to retire. And Lester, what a buck man! And Fletch is in the house?? Let's Goooooooo
So morning hunt got cancelled. Property owner had something come up and can't hunt the am. Evening hunt os a go. Going to get ahold of me midmorning with details. I'll go in as early as possible, it's Nov. 4th. I'll pop the first doe that presents a shot, I can't be as patient as I was at my Uncles place. There I had the confidence and general knowledge of the travel directions and trail network. No such luck here, but it's light pressured and big deer known in the area so I can be a bit more selective on the antlered variety. Meat is why we do this, and that has to come first for me.
