Don’t forget to practice from elevation. These shots are from about 18’ up at 12-17 yards. Time to stop shooting groups, broke the back end on an arrow this morning and had to refletch another.
These are some of the spots that call for the saddle. No evidence anyone steps foot in here with a bow.
I'm in...will use it whenever I can. May alternate with my other stand if it's a longer sit and I have the ability with better trees.
My wife and I went to Big Springs Park south of Van Buren earlier for a 5 mile walk. Just as we parked we saw a tall, narrow racked 8 point looking at us. It trotted into the woods as we got out of the car. We started walking in on the trail and I kept looking off to my left where he had gone and there he was, about 40 yards away, but right beside him was a giant 10 point. They can’t be hunted so they just stood there looking at us. That big one had to be around 20” inside with really tall 2’s and 3’s. He didn’t have great brow tines but it was a big frame and the velvet made it look even bigger. It really got my heart pumping.
I feel for you LC, with 124 entries you’ll be a busy man making teams Looking forward to November & hunting with you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The blind is done. Put the floor in and 2 chairs then cut a small shooting lane. This will be primarily a gun stand or a rainy day crossbow sit. Just wanted something convenient to get the kids out to. Here are a couple views. It blends in pretty good.
Busy weekend and one of the hottest weekends in Bama. We got all our food plots bush hogged and roads cut back. Seems like we’re always running behind.
I’m looking forward to it as well Brett. As far as building teams being difficult goes I think this is the lowest number of participants we’ve had since Bowhunting.com started in 2008. It should be pretty easy.
Well folks, at the risk of sounding like @Tony, I got a text!! Someone on the forums already has a deer down and it’s a buck!!!! Let’s test your deductive reasoning skills and see if you can guess who it is. The teams will be posted tomorrow night along with the Official Scorecard Thread and the lucky member will be able to post the kill.
Only one person I know that is hunting already. He was posting about it all last week. Looking forward to seeing his buck! Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
