Good luck guys! Lot of people on stand today. Shocker, glad you pushed thru that and got out. No fun when dark and in unfamiliar territory. Glad you pushed and got yourself back. Been there a few times and exhaustion is no joke. Your get so tired and feel like you can't do one more step. I've had a few times when I got so turned around I actually had to sit down. Soaking wet and legs spent. I carry a compass just in case and used it before. Had this happen once this year, and my body just wanted to lay down, but knew if I stopped, it would not be good. Sun is ready to pop over the hill. Been set up for about half hour. I want to crack these antlers but never to much luck with them it's 28 degrees and breeze just picked up. No guts no glory going to give them a try.
Good luck everybody! Ill be out this afternoon! I normally wouldnt write up a big long dramatic post like that but there are a bunch more close calls i could write up like some of you said that we dont even end up mentioning. For whatever reason that one shook me a little bit. Anyway thats behind me and its November and time to kill. I screwed my back and neck a little bit in that circus act so im taking this morning off and be back out this PM. Good luck everybody else! Ill be watching from the recliner till about noon.
Holt i kind of told my wife the not so detailed version because i kind of had to i was reL late getting home and i smelled like swamp. Shes used to these stories from me. I have some pretty wicked duck hunting stories where it almost went . Boats sinking, blinds catching on fire. Anyway she may be on to something, she said there should be an app that senses when your phone is getting wet and sends a location text to an emergency list. Not a bad idea.
On a good note my buddy killed this nice 11pt last night hes been after. When i called him to congratulate him he asked how my evening hunt went. Needless to say we had a good laugh. Little inspiration for you guys.
Had a doe walking north of me at 743. Looked like she was doing the walk of shame. Up all night doing unspeakable things. She stopped 35-40 yards from me down wind, thank you ozonics. I was hoping something to follow her but not yet. Thought about shooting her, she continued to travel East if she would have turn right and came my way I would have. Decent size doe. Guessing 2 1/ - 3 1/2yo
That is such a wild story… so glad you made it out good! Get out this afternoon again and then a good chunk tomorrow. Good luck guys. Keep me entertained for a few hours while I’m at work! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I just shot my first ever feral hog. Shot placement looked good. It carried the arrow with it into the thicket.
Good luck this morning everyone, working today then back to Ohio. @Shocker99 glad you got outa that, crazy stuff! Get a two pack of external chargers and charger for you phone. Saved me a bunch in the past, not close to what you went through but I got a Charlie horse in both my legs once and I was 2miles back and solo, I had to go at a snails speed and took me well over an hour to get to the hard pack, since that day I bring plenty of fluids and stay hydrated. Def gotta respect nature, hope your bow didn’t get messed up in the process. Good thing no one was at the lot when you got there or you got pulled over on the way home hahaha.
I'm freezing out here!!! Good luck guys Another half hour and I'm out. Grandsons have no school. A pic of a 9 mm was sent to a student last night with the message. Don't come to school tomorrow. Well authorities haven't found the snap chatter yet and campuses are all closed so much for living i the country.
