One more day at work.

Tomorrow is the annual chilli cook off, usually a laxed day but that's when stupid chit happens.

Get me to 4:25pm and I'm golden for the following 17 days.

Exhausted so may decompress Friday, but the thought of it being Nov. 3rd and not in the woods is haunting me. Maybe a mid morning start for a rest of the day sit is in order.

Thinking about buying 2 more cable locks tomorrow after work so I can leave sticks and stands in a tree if I like it.

Sucks having no faith in humanity.....

 

Just had the same buck from last night do exactly the same thing again tonight. He will not come out of the thick stuff for a photo op. Real nice up and comer 8.

Alarm is set for 3:30, for the coffee extra strong to start brewing at 3:35, by 4am ill be heading south to hunt some Maryland public. Yesterday the cameras were blowing up, today they were dead, guessing it may have to do with all the wind we had today. Tomorrow is supposed to be cold and calm. Can’t wait!!!

 

Nothing shootable this evening but it’s supposed to be another cold night and I’ll be back out before daylight tomorrow.

 

Checked cams today . Could have had a doe this morning had I been able to hunt. 3 days ago I had a buck very similar to the one I shot, but his rack has more mass and his heads bigger in general.
I shot a couple of arrows before dinner, though the draw was a bit of a struggle still. I can't make a tight fist and still all over aches. No where nearly as bad as this morning.

Gear is packed and loaded in the Jeep. I'm Going in deep!! I'm going to look like a damn sherpa going in wearing cargo shorts, a T-shirt and an overloaded pack. Temps are gonna be in the low 20s, clear, winds out of the NW at 5 mph. The first few minutes of the walk are going to be cold and brutal till I warm up. I'm gonna take it nice and slow and take some breaks if needed. I'm only shooting at a buck over 100". Go big or go home! Alarm set for 2:45!! Best time of year, I love this stuff!

 

Lots of cruising going on today. Everything started moving at once tonight but only with 15 minutes of light left. Got stuck for awhile. I hate that because I have a hard time making a decision on how to make an exit.
