Saw an unknown deer after quitting time. Probably a doe or little buck. I’m taking a page out of @LittleChief ‘a book and leaving everything set up and in the tree for tomorrow morning. Tomorrows the last day of my pre rut vacation and I won’t be hunting in the evening tomorrow
I’m back at camp. No deer sighted. Mornings and early afternoon seem to be good right now. I did see another flock of turkey. There are a lot of them here this year.
I just got a call from my BIL that stayed in Ohio this week. He said he shot the buck that just showed up last Friday. We had never seen it before. Pics to follow.
Got to a favorite stand only tofind the seat encrusted with pure ice. Tried to chip it off and got most of it but had to sit on some for 3 hours. Slow sit. Had 4 does n 2 small bucks come by. This is my " OH Boy, it's gonna be a great night in a stand" walk. And this is my "oh Boy, I'm freaking freezing and hurry back to a warm cabin" walk.
First encounter where I grabbed my bow got the shakes. LETS GO! Love this time of year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He shot him on the top of the ridge at last light. He has a stand about 30 feet up, so you can see the entry in high lung.
Congrats to your BIL. A bunch of bucks hit the dirt in OH yesterday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well my plans changed… turns out my MILs appointment is at 1:15 not 3pm tomorrow. Meaning I would have a very short sit in MD. Going to be responsible and hunt here in PA instead, I have much better odds down in MD but I did have e different bucks this morning checking the scrape I’ll be sitting over tomorrow. I’ll be down in MD on Thursday but I just know I’m gonna have a giant on camera there tomorrow morning…
That article shows why I say the buck on the hill have a 3-4 day rotation. I also know that that can encompass up to at least 3 miles away during the rut.
Happy November everyone!!! Im en route to a spot i hunted eatly season and passed a pretty decent buck. There are Giants in this area so im upping my standards a bit when im here. Guy at work has some pics of a deer that has to be close to 200 in area im going. Letf GO!!!!
