Broadhead check tonight at 40 yards. Broadhead just out of the black, field points just a touch high. Still a three inch group at 40. Now, I just need to shoot this as the first grouping instead the third.
Hopefully everyone has had a good summer can’t wait to get this season kicked off hope everyone has a great season been crazy here since the last time I’ve posted had to change jobs and been remodeling a house so I definitely need some tree stand therapy but it will be October 1 before my season opens but I’ll be keeping up with everyone on here good luck Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I went to camp the other day Raining acorns everywhere. Some apples but not nearly as many as here. Found 2 huge beds, pretty sure buck in an area no one hunts Unfortunately invasive have devoured much of camp. Honeysuckle bush Thorny buckthorn A thorny autumn olive and wild rose
on some walks recently around the neighborhood notice some oaks are dropping. The signs of the times.... my cameras show bucks then none then bucks then none, hoping with the new food source they'll hit those up and I'll get some better pics again.
Well I picked up my phase 4 about a week or so ago. Got it dialed in and probably going to hunt with it over the bowtech carbon one. Have tighter groups with the phase 4 and more consistent. Hoping to get out tomorrow to check cameras and do last minute tree stand prep/limb trimming. Can't believe were half way through August already. This summer has flown by, October 1st will be here before I know it. Have a good feeling about this season, 140s-150s is going to get shot.....I hope! lol
Leaves have been changing on some of the smaller sapling trees along highway. Haven't seen any mature tress changing yet here in SW Michigan
Browning sent me a new battery tray to try out. We will see how it goes. Excellent customer service if nothing else.
Just ordered a rangefinder case from Trophyline, it was free because of rewards points I earned from purchases last year. Didn't even pay for shipping.
Sent a text to the landowner in North Dakota where we hunted late season last year to see if he will be around for some beers Labor Day weekend. "Should be, if it's raining, I'll be drinking, otherwise harvest balls to the wall." Don't plan to hunt his place unless things really don't go our way on public. Will still probably glass his hundreds of acres of beans just to see. 14 days until I'm in a tree.
Got permission to hunt a 60-acre piece about an hour away from an old college roommate - scouted the piece last night and hung a few cameras. Its basically a big bean field surrounded by woods/marsh. Sounds like a neighbor might hunt the neighboring property, but only rifle hunts which should give me ample time in the woods alone. Woke up to pictures of a couple doe and a fawn on 1 camera (the other cams are not cell). This spot will likely be hunted only on weekends, as my primary spot is a mere 8 min drive from my house and know the property. We'll see what happens!
Went into the valley for more ice as the new fridge cools. It's crazy how much warmer it got and no wind just 1.8 miles down hill.
