Thanks 19. Got my annual (while I'm hunting) smudge fire going. Something I've been doing for years. Try to keep it going 24/7 For 2_3 weeks. Can't explain it but the deer kinda dig it? Often, I'll pick what stand I'm going to sit in on which way the smoke is going. I always hunt super clean but do believe the smoke helps cover up my scent somewhat. Basswood and boxelder is what's in the pile. Plus, it just smells nice while sitting in a stand.
My afternoon plans of sitting in a tree is NOT going to happen today. Yesterday the furnace had an issue. Today more of the same . The smoke detectors / carbon monoxide detector are going off in the house. Ive had to shut off the furnace and open a door or two. Called my furnace guy since I couldn't get it back and running. It's an off the wall filter. It will be here tomorrow. I may have to wait til tomorrow evening to hunt.
There are 2 130/140" bucks beating the crap out of each other bout 80 yards away. Going hard for the past 10± minutes. Just catching glimpse but it looks like a real battle. In a turnip plot I really can't see from here.
You come kill one Don't know where they went but 3 mature does and 2 other buck came out . Purdy cool.
I'm up. 4 pt on the cell phone tower as I was driving up. He was stinky when I got out of the truck. I don't think me being more wind conscious has helped me. So I said F it I'm just going to hunt and enjoy myself and if it happens it happens. When hunting big woods seems deer can come from any direction.
I'm back in from a late morning ,midday hunt. Got up in wooden blind overlooking tree plot. Had to go put up cell cam so decided to take a sit. OF course forgot phone and just checked cam statis warning no SD card found. Seriously because I took the 256gb card out of package and put it in the slot before Setting cam up... I truly wonder why I bother...anyways saw absolutely nothing not even birds or chippers....raining against came home.
This guy was within 75yds of me this morning but I never saw him. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
10 minutes you could have walked up on them and shot one. They're oblivious to their surroundings when that's happening.
All set up here in MD, temp is dropping and the wind is picking up, feels pretty deery out here just wish the wind would quit. Calling for showers around 5pm hopefully they are wrong I’d rather not get wet right before dark. Dad was down here last night and saw 10 deer so here’s to hoping they are on their feet. High today was 71, getting down to 40 by morning. Tomorrow is my 30th birthday and I won’t be able to hunt, not a big deal, the 18 years I’ve been hunting or so I have yet to kill a buck on my birthday, maybe birthday eve will bring me some new luck!!
