I’m glad I wasn’t the only one thinking the same thing.

I'd keep the letter for evidence. Maybe even contact CO.

Probably didn't hurt that @virginiashadow is about same size and build as Terry Tate.

Disagree with you here. You’re giving him the ability to police the state grounds and make an agreement over who come and goes during what season it is. All you did is give him confidence that his tactic works. Just another “this my grounds” public hunter.

Got in the stand early, then zonked out, just woke up a few minutes ago to light rain... wasn't supposed to rain until later tonight and I left some crap outside at camp.

Will be worth it if I KILL though.

I have all my gear packed and ready to go for my end-of-the-week 3-day rut binge hunt. I just need to buy some handwarmers.

I'm so tempted to give myself a stroke or heart attack and go to my deep spot for 3 straight days. By far, that will be my best chance. Sad thing is, I couldn't even tell you the last time I walked a mile, let alone 2 1/2 miles with 30 pounds of gear over 600' of elevation change and gnarly washed-out trails/rocks. Not a smart idea. I made my bed, time to lay in it and embrace the suck.

If I put three full days in at one of my classic rut spots, There's a good chance I'll see something. Because of my lack of off-season work and lack of taking care of myself, whether it be a doe, button buck, or skunk city, I need to accept and take what these big woods give me, should the woods be so generous. Challenge accepted.

I would go into that spot your rut morning and then scout during the day if you haven’t done so yet this year. Not everything is the same every year.

If any person on this forum is deserving of a deer it’s you. Make it happen.

Think I’m taking a few days off during rifle season. Next Monday - Wednesday. I want my best chance at putting a buck on my wall… 3 euro mounts the last 3 years ends this year. I’ll be out a lot this next week but think I’ll take off Monday-Wednesday after rifle opener.

Yeah you shouldn’t have to deal with that. You just wasted your time away from doing what you love over someone worried you might shoot their deer in their spot.

    Sometimes…karma.

Funny and I feel it is justifiable in nature, but hope no one decides to try such. The landowner can be charged if the trespasser was injured. Has a lot to do with the premeditated aspect of it. Same thing with setting traps for potential burglars of residences/businesses.

Shouldn't be that way, especially if the land is heavily posted etc., but liability issues are what keep a lot of land owners from granting permission to hunters seeking access.

OH has done a nice job easing landowners fears regarding liability.

More states should adopt this, I'm sure there are more that do, but have never hunted outside of IL to know.

Here IDNR has an IRAP program where landowners can join to get some kickbacks for opening up their land for special draw public use. I'm sure it has similar function ithin the agreement.

Landowners can also do the same thing I would imagine, but be a lot easier with a state authorized form that is 100% legally binding backed by the Attorney General's office.

A flurry of action towards dark.
I had a buck chase two deer 6 yards away from me. Later, I had a fawn walk by and another deer was near me in the corn, but it was too dark.

The buck may be the smallest spike, not spikes, I've ever seen. His one antler was smaller than Mike's finger!...that's saying something. The 2 deer he chased were both fawns.

Dang. Looking for kills in all the wrong places.

Total fiasco for deer today. Crunchy snow kept me from going for deer this morning so I went for coyotes (shot 2).
Got back to the cabin about 11a.m, took a quick snooze with plans on being in a stand by 3 30.
Didn't happen. Was totally surrounded by deer.
    Daytime movement was unreal!.
Didn't dare leave. Stuck inside pouting as it's my birthday and I've never shot a good buck on it.
I'm stubborn and a slow learner but...., this full moon stuff is real!
Mid day is when I need to be in a stand.
    Guessing I seen 9_10 bucks from 1 p.m. to 5 30 p.m. along with quite a few does.
Last hour before dark just DIED for moment.

3 bucks were good mature bucks.
2 came within 50 yards of the cabin. No " chasing" but hard following.

So fun to watch but frustrating that I was stuck inside.

Will you not shoot a deer from the cabin?

No wrong answer, just curious. I know you'll put a cap in the tree rats, but wondering about the deer.
