Very pleased with the First Lite solitude set. I’ve always had to wear like 3 layers a vest and jacket. I have their thinnest wick layer under their thickest furnace and the jacket/bibs. Been perfect all morning. Only complaint is the pockets. No side pockets on the bibs and no real place to put my rangefinder.

Nothing yet, so when I slipped in the rain had slowed. After I was in a tree the flood gates opened again. I don't know what was harder the rain or the leaves coming off the trees.

    I'm soaked.

A plus side of this was I couldn't here the chippies and or squirrels running around me unless they were 10 feet or closer. I still jerked my head to see

Climbing down soon , helping BIL take snow blower to get fixed.

I'll be out for the evening hunt

Well….. arrow launched. At least it was a clean miss . Basically the 3 does came back. I ranged where the smaller ones walked 33yds. Was watching them cause they were headed to my downwind. Looked back at big mama and she was coming fast. Grabbed bow, drew, second guessed myself cause she looked closer than 33 yds… but i just ranged it. So dont second guess! I put the 30yd pin right in the Vee and let it go. Over her back. What the heck?!. Ranged it 23 yds. I knew she was closer. She came in on a slightly different path than the other 2 did. The small holes i had both looked similar. Oh well. Back at the house will try to make it out again soon. Good luck everyone else!

AMAZING morning! My cousin shot his first deer ever with a bow.

1st time ever drawing back on a deer.

    8 yard shot!

When I was 12, I got my first bow handed down from him. He's been bow hunting 39 years! 20231028_095811.jpg

I was hoping to get out for some midday action, but the rain has other ideas. I am going to stick around the house for now. It is looking like a long shot on the radar, but I may try to get out this afternoon. More thunderstorms on the way, hopefully it calms down later.
