Doe and a fawn. Spotted coming in across field, now the chocolate racked buck. Popped out for just a moment 100 yrds out. Went right back into woods. Let's hope down not up hill

For all day sits I use a hydration bladder, fits into my pack low profile and easy to drink without a lot of movement, sometimes I’ll add sqwincher or liquid IV to it. For food, I take cliff bars or other granola style bars. Trail mix, fireball candy or any other candy my kid gets from Halloween, jerky, pb & j sandwiches or other lunch meat style sandwiches. All snacks are unwrapped and put into plastic bags. Snacking helps pass the time in the Stand for me. I’ll also bring a thermos of coffee on cold days.

Good luck to everyone out today.
This weekend is our annual "Papa Ted's deer camp" weekend. My father-in-law started it when my son was 4 or 5 years old, wanted him to have hunting camp memories with his grandpa.
We are doing it at my property this year, I'm excited about that. Be nice to hunt somewhere I already know where I want to hunt. Weather is supposed to turn off cold too, going from mid 60's for a high and low 50's for a low, to 32 for the high and 16 for the low this weekend. Predicting an inch of snow as well, we'll see. I foresee sitting in the blind quite a bit with the heater going for the kid. Hopefully the deer will be moving well. Full moon, so hopefully some mid-day sits will show some good movement.

Had Bluejays going crazy between me and house. I'm surprised I didn't hear a bunch of grunting. Though you could hear them running around in there. I hear A.J. barking at the house. All windows are open. He must be seeing something out in the woods. They built the place as a camp and put the windows a bit over a foot off the floor in living room. He can see the woods well..

headed to the cabin tonight to hunt tomorrow.
Laundry going right now, thinking about what to take out of the freezer to eat while at cabin and I notice my quiver is just out not where it goes.
That would have been fun hunting with no quiver.

Put a cam out yesterday at the new property. Two bucks already on cam this morning. This is the better of the two, maybe I should take a quick setup over there for the weekend. Screenshot_20231025_083334_Gallery.jpg

I'm off work this weekend. Can someone please push that two day rain storm which just so happens to be predicted for the weekend, back a few days?

Correct, arrow launched on a doe around 8:30, trailed her about 150 yards with decent blood, going the arrow there with hood lung blood on it IMG_1315.JPG .

Then she really opened up for about 50 yards. IMG_1317.JPG
Don’t worry more blood to follow TDK!
    Just hard to post pics.

Then I saw her get up about 50-75 yards infront of me, atleast I think it was her, and slowly walk down the hill. I backed out, walked the mile back to the car dropped my stuff and got my light weight gear on and grabbed the deer cart. Heading back in now hoping to find her desd but will be ready with a second arrow

Thanks for the update and the blood pics. Amazing how far deer can go losing that much blood.

I hope she didn't go much farther.

Was doing a little cleaning today so the smell of bleach must have triggered this memory. Many years ago my wife washed my hunting clothes and pu them into plastic trash bags like I used to do. She was so proud of that and gave me a bag of clothes that I put on in the field. Hit the stand and I started noticing I smelled like Clorox bleach. She had put my clothes into bleach scented bags. That was the last day of hunting season. Not a deer seen that afternoon. Haha. We still laugh about that disaster.
