Got in about 20 minutes ago. Pulling my bow up and had a yearling doe jump up across the ditch 10yrds away. Had to have watched me climb the tree. Have a spike about 20yds in front of me in some real thick stuff.

The farmer is just making his first pass on the corn as I’m typing this.

    Lets kill.

Put a lift kit on the deer cart tonight after work. Only time I have personally used it had to use a cut corn field and it sat too low, stalks were catching the bottom

Hopefully it was worth the $60.

Got all excited when a tree in the thicket started shaking. Then a spike walked out and let the air out of my sails. At least I've seen one already. Need his grandpa to do that

Actually made it out this evening. Came to a plot we havent had eyes on since we planted it. Pretty sad. No rain. There are prints all over it though and acorns dropping in it from all these pinoaks. Probably what theyre in here munching on.[IMG]

I planned on going out but work got me. Putting garden to bed and shoveled 2 full wheel barrows of dirt and rocks to level "floor" of new coop. Pulled up drive way under lay I've had down for years as weed mat in garden. This will open area for a spring Wheat, sorghum and barley for the chickens.
Hunting other than early morning will have to take a back seat to prepping for winter.
I did check scrapes out back and had one one hit. That said kicked up a group in beech bedding 30 yrds infront of the ladderstand. Will need a good west wind to hunt that.
May be a good thing, warm and my time is strangled at best. Just the scenario for me having to recover and gut, hang, skin, and quarter before flies find me. Ying Yang...lol

Lots of grunting and chasing just happened. Didn’t get to see the buck. Doe took off opposite direction and her fawn ran right under me.

Sorry about last night guys. It was a whirlwind. With 15 minutes left my target buck came in from my left. There was a goofy looking 8 point to my right and when he saw my target he started towards him. He stopped when they got about 5 yards from each other, and I let it loose. He jumped the fence and ran about 6o yards and piled up. IMG_4562.jpg
