Got in a little long range shooting today. Never thought I'd get excited about it, but there is something about hearing that thump, walking down and seeing good groups from 65 yards.

Just wait till I have a hiccup, whiff completely and then piss and moan about losing an arrow. I have confidence.

I finally have a weekend off and can't wait to get out to check my cameras/shoot my bow. It's been about a month and last time the weed whip line ran out before I was done with my first camera. Can't wait to scroll through hundreds of moving grass pictures.

I'm just about done with summer. I just want fall. Having things to do is fun and all, but I'm ready to be in the woods by myself.

23 days until we head for the North Dakota opener.

You know, I wish it was. It was cool in the 70s and bad thunderstorms everyday. Worst conditions possible.

That's how I do my Spring Gobbler breasts. I cut them into about 1" strips and wrap in bacon and put them on the grill. Definitely none leftover.

That's an awesome looking plot. I planted mine 2 weeks ago and it was only about an 1" high. I hope when I go back on Labor Day weekend it looks like yours.

I've been shooting a lot this year!!! going to a lot of 3 D shoots, even was in a summer league, my team took 3rd.
been practicing out to 60 yards. not consistent thou, hard to be with 3 pins set up and bottom pin (3rd pin) is for 40 yards.

Folks just don’t understand the addiction to that “thump”, especially at distance.

Nothing on cams save 2 fox and 2 adult ,3 young raccoon.
I was awoken at 5 this morning to a rather big pack of coyotes literally yards from the back of house. There were so many different yelps and howls and so loud they had A J going crazy barking in the house. I think they finally quieted enough to hear him and move off.
Between them and the bear I may be doing more midday hunts this year.

Up to shooting 70ish arrows a day 4-5 days a week. Getting pretty tight in groups. Broadheads are flying well. Because we are moving this month there will be no elk hunting this year which is a bummer but lots of hunting in Missouri this year.

The coyotes have been pretty quiet down in the southern tier……so far.
