Confusing stuff. Congrats to LC, nice shot. Tell your brother I know how he feels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just to be clear i was totally joking. There may be some that would let him walk but i’m not crazy enough to let that one go. I’ll probably wake up from a blackout with an empty quiver if i see that buck in daylight
Is that the buck that's on family land? The one you were going to let them chase it? One great buck, looks like a bruiser! Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
No! Different one. My neighbor sent me these so hes close. We all end up seeing the same deer eventually. This is maybe 300 yds from our property line. That other one from family ground is bigger racked but not as big bodied. My uncle is foaming at the mouth to put one of his daughters on him. I really hope they kill him but i wont pass up a couple late season hunts if he survives gun season. Good thing is there is a huge network of neighbors that have about a 10 sq mile area covered that all communicate so if he gets killed by anybody we have a good chance of knowing.
That's cool they all do that. At least you know what's around and what to hold out for. Can't wait to see how your season unfolds! Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Good Lord...., I need a rain day so I have time to catch up. Congrats to WHOEVER shot that buck. Hope it was LC.
That is @LittleChief bow and the bloody arrow is his. I can confirm that. It is what he was shooting at the 3D shoot back in the spring. Waiting on a text to confirm what his teammates are saying, but, I am guessing both he and his brother shot bucks tonight. He is probably busy helping his brother with recovery.
Sorry for the confusion. My brother texted and said he had shot a “big one”. He said he had hit it in the neck. While he was waiting to get down a small buck walked by behind thick cover at 35 yards. He stopped and I glanced right and there was an 8 point I’d definitely shoot. They met and knocked horns together and the little 8 ran back. The other one walked by a tiny window at 38 yards and I was ready. The arrow sailed through the small opening I had, flew over the brush like I knew it would and made a perfect heart shot. I didn’t know that at the time. I packed up, got down and looked at the arrow. It looked good, so I set my bow down and went to my brother. He couldn’t find any blood. I’m useless looking for blood so I walked back to my arrow and found good blood. I followed it and ran into the buck 35 yards later. He had died right in the four wheeler trail. When we looked at him we couldn’t believe it. It was the same buck my brother had shot through the neck. I don’t know how he didn’t kill it but he didn’t. It didn’t even act hurt. My brother was happy for me and happy that we wouldn’t be out looking for blood all night. So was I. Got some work to do now.
I saw that also. If that is a wound He was within inches of ripping his throat out!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
That's a freakin crazy story. The two of you will remember that forever! I'd like to see a good pic of the neck wound AND some blood pics - or did you forget? I'll hunt tomorrow morning if it's not going to rain. Saw a doe and fawn later tonight - no shots.
