Fever, body aches, headache, not so much stomach issues tho. I don't typically get sick that often either and of course I'm a big Ole baby about it. Ha!
Finally got my rifle euro back yesterday. Hoping for a shoulder mount this year after 3 straight years of deer this size (I can’t complain though). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Signed off on my deer lease today. Feel blessed to be able to hunt it another year. Looking forward to sharing the ride whatever may happen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Walked and walked today. Always a first for something. Kept hearing a drone near the river. I was in some thick cover and was surprised the drone slowed down when overhead. Was funny at first but over an hour it kept buzzing overhead. I guess I was someone's training tool. Figured it was police or fire testing out their thermal drone so I came out the opposite way I came in and went toward open ground...sure enough there were swat team guys and the fire Marshall. I scared the hell out of them when exited the woods and yelled, "how are you!?". Lol. Anyway I got about 5 different bucks on the cam I left out for 10 days. 1 decent. 1 borderline. Jumped a buck out of his bed and found 3 buck beds with hair. One beds right by the river which is so cool. Overall I am real glad I walked the other 100 acres as 90% is impenetrable crap that looks good on the map but you can't enter clean unless you have scouted.
Put up another stand today, was going to do 3 but I gladly got rained out. And while I was doing some clearing around my box blind I looked up at the bottom of it and was being watched by a flying squirrel and a big hornet nest. Glad I saw it before going any further since I am allergic.
Finally shot some boadheads tonight and it went a lot better than I expected. Aside from one nock tune and one arrow that just wouldn't behave no matter what, I have 4 arrows in the quiver that are good to go. Didn't even touch the sight tape. Amazing what a perfectly tuned bow can do.
Did some fishing at Sea Isle City NJ. Great time with the kids on kayaks in the bay and at the inlet with surf rods. Caught croakers and flounder.
If you ever have the chance to go see the Full Draw Film Tour, go do it. It is a great event and they give way a ton of door prizes. Last night I took my boys for the third year in a row. Every year we have walked out with more money in door prizes than it cost me to go. First year I won a half dozen Victory arrows. Last year my youngest won the youth bow, this year my oldest won the youth. The youth bow giveaway this year was a big step up from last year. It is Hoyt Kobalt, adjustable draw length from 14 -28”, 10-45lb draw weight, retails for $450.
In Washington it is. I’m here for one more week. So get one last hunt in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
