Got a bear in Idaho this spring. My first ever. 492 yd cross canyon shot. He wasn’t big but I wasn’t passing on anything legal my last day since I had never got one. One week after returning from overseas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Was going to wait a month to check cameras but might as well do it today. Need to see if yogi tore down/damaged the one and adjust another that’s getting triggered by the wind quite a bit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Camera was ripped down but somehow wasn’t damaged. Glad I checked all of my cameras. Weed whipped almost every one and forgot to turn one on 2 weeks ago. Will post any interesting pictures if I have any. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I spent Friday and Saturday at our hunting cabin at Wattensaw WMA in Arkansas. We had a “work party” and the primary task was putting a metal roof on the cabin. it was an interesting evolution. It’s only 5 pitch but each side is only 6 feet, the edges are right at 31 feet off the ground and it rained off and on both days. We rented a JLG lift to get the edges done and we were all glad we did. Probably couldn’t have pulled the job off without it.
I know they are and you can add most big winter sqaush and melons. If you go non hybrid just collect your seeds and plant as many as you like scatter through out a field. Let me tell you they love musk melons and acorn squash
Saw this cat in person when camping at the property Memorial Day weekend. He wandered by camp about 100 yards out around 30 minutes to dark. At first I thought it was a deer, but then it cleared some brush and I saw the tail. The picture is from a camera hung on a watering trough from our lower spring, taken this last Saturday evening. Not real happy that a young cat has adopted our place as his home turf (I assume it's a young-ish male). I get them wandering through on game cams here and there, but we have been getting pics of this one pretty consistently since late last summer. Season is August 30th to March 31st, so it'll be open when I'm deer hunting this fall.
We did turn on the big fan upstairs and pull air through it most of the weekend, but there is nothing that can be done about the smell of the cabin after over 50 years of "man use".
Well shoot, I lied about Cougar being open year round. I could've sworn the season in our property's unit was listed as April 1st to March 31st, but I just looked it up and it is August 30th to March 31st. I believe it may have been changed recently...or I am confusing them with wolf season. At any rate, I'll have to wait until after elk season in September. Will edit my first post so as to not confuse anyone.
We are in the red outline. I’m guessing we are 6-7 weeks now without significant rainfall. Insane we are already in a drought considering the historic snow we had. Everyone do your rain dances. Chance for isolated storms tomorrow and Saturday evenings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We have rain starting tomorrow for days, about to go weed wack . I went out to check dead ash and for more envasive garlic. I found both and have about 15 mature ash to drop for son this summer. Remember my saying A.J. protected me from a bear as we were in the garden? Well 2oo ft and on our place from where we saw it I found a huge pile of bear crap. From the diameter it is a bigger bear than I thought. That or it's a smaller bear with hemorrhoids after passes what I saw. All chickens together in outdoor run so they get time out before the rains. So far so good.
Threw a couple cams up at the prop, looks like I have a buck back on the farm that I been watching the last 3 years, he’s there all summer and first coupe weeks then hides somewhere. Looking forward to seeing what he turns into. First year I had em he was a big 6 Pt, last two years he was a 130’s 8pt. Here’s him this year so far Here he is two years ago, he was about identical last year maybe just a lil more mass.
Started about 7 and am half done. Hand watering 200 pumpkin plants with a bucket. 150 gallons so far. Got lots more to go. Is it worth it? Hell yeah come late season
Do you interested those pumpkins? WhenI did mine I layed down annual red clover and later rye grain Oh also Daikon radish and turns
