It happens more than you think. Guys at camp have had these issues, not as often but WAY fewer people.

Lol, no would never ask him. For one thing he has an issue with bow hunting another I am a slow simmer person I will eventually see them get theirs.
I also blame myself. I know the risks and I do not like quartering shots but took it. Pretty sure it clipped heart and one lung. Thus his Initial staggering after his run. I also know and have said on the hill a dead deer can run a mile down hill.

So I made it out to the new property to meet with the landowner. This property butts up to a very busy 4 lane highway. The funny thing I noticed is that this property sits between two deer crossing signs. The meeting went great, he took me for a ride in his UTV to show me where he sees all the deer and where the property lines are. Found a well-used trail running up through a drainage with lots of rubs.

Ya know I honestly thought I had most under control. The out of staters finally sold their camp which seems to have caused the " great white hunter ," to move on as well. At least he's not mowing the field near house his cousins sold. Also a 4 wheeler was hauling a ladder stand down the hill from up there the other day. No ones moved into the rental that I had the guy arrested a couple of years ago for tearing up our land . The fencing and threat of fencing(a very large roll of 6 ft chain link on the back line) has controlled the out of town camp next to us. His dad rest his soul was a nice guy. It was WAY,WAY worse when we first moved here. I'm surrounded by hunting camps. Limited time and a need to show buddies a rack. The great white hunter actual bought mounts to pass off as his own...really!? geez

Damn OND, that is straight-up horrible and I can't even imagine what that must be like. I hope karma catches up with him quick and you're nearby when it does so you can see it.

Yep....the days following that front are what we dream about! I WAS going to take Monday and Tuesday off, but I can't justify it right now where I hunt. If it were a week or two from now, damn straight I'd be telling my clients/patients to call 988, because I'd be in the woods.

    No unless it wasn't
tagged but he drove it somewhere I only assumed home due to how quick he came back. Also as stated in NYS it belongs to whom ever tags it in a dispute. I'll find out who it was and you can bet word will get out. I can be chatty ;)

I can't let it ruin my season....hey could just be the hunting God's saying we may have a surprise for you. Though he had some really nice G3 and width.

Back in the saddle tonight to give it a whirl. No sooner got set up and saw 2 deer feeding about 80 yards out. Looks like a spike and a small yearling. Promising start !!

Scouted during lunch. Found a shed and some heavy deer trails. Also had a doe walk to 30 yards of me. 20231018_113000.jpeg 20231018_112036.jpeg
