Up for my last hunt until Saturday evening in Missouri. Hopeful for tonight. A lot of big fresh rubs and a few scrapes within 30yds that have yet to be opened up since the rain this weekend. Now someone just needs to come freshen them up this evening. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I’m set up in a natural ground blind I put together a couple months ago on public watching a bluff gap. About the only place these deer have to get to the bottom is threw this gap. I know of two bucks in here that I would like to shoot. I just got to be still and keep my eyes peeled.
I’m up, same stand as last time. The wind is going to get iffy later so I decided to sit here again. Walked by a fresh scrape that was probably opened up sometime within the last 24 hours. Good luck everyone!
I don’t know how I missed the deer from yesterday but congratulations guys! 1 unknown deer coughing. About an hour and fifteen minutes left and it feels very “bucky” tonight. Prone is going away until dark or an arrow flies! Good luck pm! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Im remembering why I rarely hunt this stand prior to November. Just a mistake I guess. It’s a bottom where a bunch of points and ridges funnel into. The wind sort of swirls, my tree doesn’t provide great cover (not a lot of other ideal) trees around. I’ve had doe blowing at me for the last 30 minutes. Probably 5 or 6 different doe. One will blow and move on. Next one comes in and blows. It’s insane. Total hack job by me on this hunt… Incredibly poor decision making all around. I just thought I could get away with it.
Even with all that. I’ve had another doe and a small buck sense cruise through at 10 yards. I mean the deer are here I just hate feeling pinned down all friggin night like this. Probably the 8th and 9th deer I’ve seen so far. Hour left.
Congratulations Justin! What a stud. That’s an old warrior there. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
