Rushed home from work now in a tree about 100 yards from my house. Nothing like opening day.

Took it real nice and slow. Got into the area I wanted and started seeing 4 wheeler trails running through the bedding grass then this perm wood stand with vegetstion destruction all around it. Fed land. 4 wheeler illegal. Perm stand illegal. No buck sign. Got back on kayak and I am now hunting a peninsula. Got close to the 2nd bed I found last time I scouted.

Been live from the rain the last couple hours. Moving stands and pulling cards. I’m ready to go home and get a hot meal.

    Good luck PM shift!

Probably the weirdest hunting year I've had in a long time....feel disconnected. Not sure what is going on.

    LFTS 2023 motherlovers!!!
Bumped a small buck, doe, 2 fawns appx 50yds from my stand on walk in. Rain stopped in Central 'Sconnie about 11a.

I've got a crazy story about my trail cams I'll post later from laptop. Long story short on Sept 28 someone trespassed and shut almost every one off (guessing every one they found). Didn't steal any, but did steal 3 batteries out of one (takes 8)

    This is private land. WTF

    Anyhoo

    Good luck KILLERS

    Goda%/%$!
Had this guy at 52yds tonight.
He read the Cliffs Notes version of the script. Didn't come in to the water just cruised on by. The trough is exactly 28yds.

I wanted to take a sledge hammer to this today. Also wanted to call the game warden. Alas, I did neither.

Welcome to the midwest and big buck obsession, errr.. rather killing a deer obsession.

Here in IL that would have multiple violations. Permanent, damage to a/multiple tree(s), not marked with owners info.

Hell. We get fined if you cut a limb or sapling for a shooting lane if caught.

Get fined for amount of damage and restitution for the tree here as well.
