Had 3 does and a pair of fawns feeding in the murder hole plot this morning at 30 yards and never could get a viable shot. One of them was an old long nosed nanny doe that I have a personal grudge against. She's busted me way too many times in the last couple of years. The doe that still has twin fawns with her is safe but I'll ventilate the other two if they come back and give me a shot. Especially that self appointed neighborhood watch nanny.
Same thing in my area. This is one of the best acorn years I can remember which is good for the deer but not so good for hunters since the deer aren't moving around much with that all you can eat acorn buffet laid out for them. Lots of persimmons too but they're not really paying attention to them so far anyway.
Absolutely what I’m thinking the way you describe the arrow Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I’m loaded up and ready for Ohio tom, low is 38* I’m fired up and got a new buck showing up in am daylight.
Did a little bit of target shooting to make sure bow is still on today. Everything looks good. Getting ready to head to stand. One of these times I will connect. Having a good but slow season thus far. Good luck if your getting out tonight. I will update if possible when I get setup.
I want to but still have 20-25 mph gust, I may just sit on the ground on a field edge where I saw some does come out yesterday.
In stand. Beans are being picked in the area. I'm setup about 450 yards from the field on the edge of a swamp. Wind blowing towards field. Let's see what happens Sent from my SM-G990U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Congrats to all the killers from the weekend!!! I was out of service for a family cabin trip and just got caught up. I was able to get out and do some hunting, got a shot at a big doe at 20 yards… I have never seen one jump the string so hard that close, thought I made a terrible shot because the arrow ended up sailing just over her head. After watching the film on it, she ducked and rolled, was about an inch from ending up with a headshot doe!! It was an awesome evening in the woods though, ended up seeing 8 does total, all of which swung down wind of me. Hopefully get out a few times this week
Ready for the evening, this is the last spot I killed a buck, hopefully I can repeat that this evening
