Oh man it is just pouring and a look at radar shows you guys south of me pushing a solid straight line if green and yellow at me, states away. Going home ,getting drenged while at it , for coffee and make hubby breakfast. Lol it's just getting heavier and heavier and I think I just heard thunder...this will be fun....
Slow so far for me, not even squirrels. Buddy just text me, his wife killed her first deer this morning after missing a doe last night.
Exit.. explain to me the horrible blood trail… she went about 80 yards… Story- she came from my right and behind me… with another 9 I think… it was crazy.. lead doe and tear doe are usually the biggest and there were a lot of fawns as well. She was 20 yards and by the time I **** her she was maybe 15… quartering away… aimed for the exit … heard her crash and kick as well as blow like they do … all the other deer were running all over the place … 20 minutes later some were still there.. her fawns I’m guessing I knew I made a good shot.. the PSE Evolve 31 and killzone hit its mark… could not find the hit site and the blood trail was horrible… I put my bow and pack down and was trailmarking. As I went but man, spec here speck there… at last blood I just went to praying as I couldn’t find any more… walked another 30 yards in the direction she was going and the first pic was how I found her… good size doe Back at the house to grab the side by side and drag her the 3 feet to the bed Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I’ll make a short quick post about what happened but don’t want to hijack the thread. I’ve hunted a property for 10 years. Well this year we were notified yesterday that the Bureau of Indian Affairs is not allowing deer hunting in that area anymore. Even the land owners aren't allowed to deer hunt. I can still duck hunt it but no deer. It stinks but nothing we can do. I’ll be headed to public land.
I’ve been in my tree since an hour before first light. I was expecting deer to come from the east to bedding to my west. About 15 minutes before light I see a light coming down the old road towards me. The road is west. The guy gets about even with me and finally sees my light that I’ve been flashing at him. He turned around, backtracked about 70 yards, cut in on my side of the road, went about 150 yards to the creek I’m expecting deer to come from, turned left and walked the creek until he had effectively cut me off. I just love hunting public land.
It truly is exhausting haha, I deal with nonsense all the time in Ohio. I leave my house at 2am drive 2.5hr, walk 45min in dark 1.5miles back in setup 30 b4 sunrise. Then have a dip s**t come walking in with a bow in hand sneaking like Elmer Fud 1 hr after legal shooting light haha. I try not to get discouraged but man it’s annoying!!!
