Same, unfortunately. I have a 4 day weekend and with the rain, I might be able to get out Monday If I'm lucky. Sucks!
Lots of does and yearling fawns out this morning but none of them came close enough for a dinner invitation. The rain has moved in and is supposed to last through tonight and through most of tomorrow. The woods completely shut down when it started so I slogged and splashed my way back to the house. At least the rain will be good for the late season murder hole food plot so that's a bright side I suppose.
I’ll be headed to your neck of the woods tomorrow morning. From what I see in the weather forecast Friday will still be a bit warm, but with the rain moving through it has potential. What I am really looking forward to is Saturday’s temperatures.
Just got back from setting up two blinds for my nephew to hunt out of, he’s been practicing with his X bow and is proficient to 30 yds. I have been having a pile of deer come into these two fields in the evening. I’m trying to get him on his first deer and hoping for a buck. Going out Saturday evening, will be in one of these depending on the wind.
All set up for sit number three of the year. Bit warm but nice breeze. Hunting the acorns again. Beans and corn seem a little dry. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'm looking forward to the cooler temps myself. The local forecast is predicting a high Sat. of 64 and 70 on Sunday with nighttime temps in the low 40's. There have been some really nice deer killed in Baxter,Izard and Marion county including one big thumper that looked like something you'd see in Kansas or Illinois. Best of luck on your Arkansas hunting LC. I hope a big ol' healthy buck steps out to welcome you to north Arkansas.
Yeah, Acorns are all they care about right now in my area. It's a good acorn crop this year too, The white oaks are loaded down this year and dropping 'em like rain. They're not even giving red oak acorns or food plots a second glance at the moment.
Oh geezz 4 alarm and they have the equipped ATV'S out,it's breezy and I can smell the smoke on the stronger breezes. Man that's where they've been cutting the corn north of us. A corn field catching on a breezy hills side ..,not good
Trying to make it as fun and interesting as possible, he’s gonna crap himself when he has 20+ deer out in front of him Hahha.
Movement already. Small deer feeding my way on acorns. She’s downwind but doesn’t seem bothered. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

Mid day I checked the scrapes , two were hit hard. One more day of heat.....hhmmm...I wonder what a big fire will do to buck movement? I know for a fact they have traveled as far away in loops as 3 miles in normal condition . Thenwe enter into a supposed 5 day Raining cold event. Some days are calling all day ,but looking at % 's more than likely not. I'll be watching things closely and have the blinds with good compound shooting room for me. Read an article on mini pre and post ruts that should be taking place starting around the 16th here. We'll see
