The next time I climb a tree it’ll be in Arkansas and it should be a lot colder. It will be a welcome change.
I am so looking forward to the cooler weather. Cold front for us here Monday morning. Low of 45! Welcome change from the 80s
Today was 87* By Friday, low of 35, high of 54. Bring it! Oh, don't fret. 2 months from now I'll most likely be whining about way to cold and deep snow
Same here, but my kills never get teasers anyway. I always kill Live From the Stand. Well, except that one time I forgot my phone.
Oh yeah, I forgot I was going to post a pic or two. I finally got the doe I killed Friday processed today. She wasn’t a huge doe but she was a good sized one. This is what my Slick Trick did to her on-side scapula:
It was fine. The blades had a few light nicks but I suspect that is because it was buried in the rocky ground. They could easily be resharpened but I just put new blades on it and put the old ones in my re-use pile. The same ferrule went back on and that arrow went back into my number one slot.
This guy keeps showing up and he just went by my other blind about 10 minutes ago...I want to go hunting first thing in the morning but I can only hunt until 9 due to work obligations. On Thursday I can hunt most of the day. He's been roaming between the two spots every day and they are still in a bachelor group. I just want on him before he disappears. I mainly just want to get a good look at him in person to see if he's worth shooting. Would you all wait until I can stay out there both morning and evening and wouldn't be rushed or would you take a quick two hour hunt? My place is an hour away.
You’ve got to ask yourself what happens if you shoot him at 8:45? I believe I would wait until I have the time to recover him if you kill him.
Very good point. He's actually bedded right now in front of my other blind. He's been there for a couple of hours. I'm going to wait until Thursday. Looking at the forecast there is a 60% chance of thunderstorms at 9am so it's best to wait.
My only day off work until next Thursday is tomorrow, and it's looking like a wash out. Love it. Guess I could always scout in the rain.
