I'd like to buy a strip of woods that borders my place. It has quite a few nice white oaks on it.

I doubt I'll ever get it though, It's owned by a funeral home and those folks are used to selling land in 6 foot by 3 foot plots at a high price.

I’m set up and ready with no idea what to expect. I did manage to accidentally set up 5 yards from a trail. I was only looking for a good tree and didn’t see the trail until I was cinching in.

Here’s a couple of pics of what this 5 acres looks like. All oaks with a few pines mixed in:

Looks like a good spot, Hope you get a crack at one.

May I ask what bow that is? That's a sharp looking rig.

No doe fight. Ears were pinned back on both parties but they chose peace today, and went back the way they came.

I ended up seeing three deer. Two were 60 yards out and I couldn’t tell what they were. I assume a couple of does.

About 15 minutes before end of light I heard another one coming. It was dim enough that even with binoculars I couldn’t see exactly how good he was, but he was a good buck. He walked by at about 40 yards.

I watched him until I couldn’t see him and then I listened as he walked away.

I needed to get down so I kind of just hoped he was far enough away. I got down and out without spooking anything.

I’ll hunt there in the morning and adjust for tomorrow afternoon in hopes they do the same thing.

Nothing tonight, everything felt right, even for being as hot as it was but no action. Heard a gaggle of coyotes start making their way to me at last light, got me excited to drop me one.

Purdy rare when it's Oct 1 and I can sit on the deck at 8p.m. in my underware and still be warm..

1 more day of heat then more seasonal temps.

Congrats! My first deer with a bow was a temple shot. Arrow hit a branch and went straight into her ear.

No luck finding the coyote last night I know he’s dead the shot hit him right under the jaw in the throat I heard him crash in some very thick stuff found some blood heading in the briars didn’t want to crawl in there for him It was a costly shot broke my arrow nocturnal and lost my magnus in him

Getting ready to head out the door soon it’s 53 degrees with a dense fog advisory. I can only be out until 10 at the latest it’s supposed to get warm today. Starting to come down with some sickness but maybe just allergies. Good luck to the Monday warriors.

I’m set up. Got up and ready a full hour before daylight.

Actually seeing deer yesterday got me motivated.

….AND I just got busted posting this.
