Rain has passed, I’m a little chilly but I’ll fine. Small funky buck eating, looks like offspring of the funky buck I shot 2 years ago
2 does, 2 fawns, a spike and 3 turkeys. Giving it another 30 minutes. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
4:05 this morning standing 12.5 yards from my stand in the same spot the doe was standing when I threw my water bottle at her night before last. Of course I’m still not hunting. He would have been gone by the time I got set up anyway. I’m hoping the peak of the new moon tomorrow and Monday will shift their movement times a bit.
Nothing moving yet here, on way in I passed what I'm sure is a decent buck bedded on a ridge point. Saw eyes and they were really wide apart. Jays just started yammering gonna give it another 20 then see if I can put a stalk on that bedded one. Everything is soaked and I can go stealth mode. KILL
As long as YOU are pleased with the hunt and the out come, inches are irrelevant. Good luck and have fun!
Sounds like you all (all you Guys)have good acorns this year...we have little to none. I found just one red with a few . Nearly no apples as well. . This would be perfect but I drove around the area yesterday. Beans cut and most of the thousands of acres of silage corn was planted really late like the fields near me. I'm thinking early in bow will be pretty tough going. Once silage is cut they'll be moving and in the woods. Clover fields were stripped recently . It will be too late to plant the winter grains around us so I'm thinking the manure trucks will hit these fields hard after the cut. This will actually be great I think. Good luck Guys
While everyone else was out hunting this beautiful morning, this was me for an hour. I swear I'm gonna buy green or brown blue jeans just to wear in that craphole hitchhiker infested swamp
Slow morning, back out this evening. Have had a lot more success and deer activity in the evenings on my setup. Be back out after while! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I’m out, rain is on/off and I don’t have rain gear. I did all I care to do, saw some deer, saw some turkey. Left my platform and tether in tree, I’d like be back out 3/4pm. I think that’ll be the ticket
I finally felt decent enough and got motivated enough to go and get the climber I shot the doe in from behind the house and move it all the way across the road to the east side of my property where my other Tactacam Reveal is set up. Of course I had to climb up, remove my hooks and then climb up the new tree and set the hooks since I’ll be climbing in the dark in the morning. The wind is supposed to shift tonight and that new tree will be good for the morning. Provided the wind does what it’s supposed to. After that 10 point left the spot up the ridge he walked in front of that other cell camera. I’m definitely not well yet and I’m drained from that little bit of exertion.
I guess they brought him in for surgery again this morning and put a stent and a coil pack in the artery. The also put stents in his legs as well. He had tubes and drains in his head. Now that they have the bleeding stopped or at least they think they do, I guess he’s going to be having a series of test to find out what he still has or does not have. His eyes were open and he’s been mumbling. Left side of his face is seemingly paralyzed. Not sure what else. I might be able to go out for an evening sit.!
I will be heading out in a the next hour. Not sure I will have any service, but if I do I will update. Good luck all! Good to see more people's seasons opening and joining in!
