I’m set up for the afternoon sit. This will be my first sit in the woods on the other side of the road.

The acorns are really dropping here.

I’ve been up for a little while. The wind is really calm, almost too calm for me. But it’s rather nice out here getting some tree therapy! Good luck everyone 384D54D7-EBE2-49E1-9B66-3148D21139B3.jpeg

Yearling playing in the water below me. Thinking I’m going to scout the woods in the next few days. Haven’t went deep into the woods since probably shed hunting. Gotta start looking for buck sign.

Haven't seen anything yet, but I've got faith in this spot based on last years opening week performance. About 100 minutes to go so hopefully this spot doesn't disappoint![IMG][IMG]

Just had a 15 minute standoff with a giant doe and her button buck fawn. The fawn sniffed the base of my tree for 5 minutes. Granted there really is no wind they were right below me down wind. Sniffing the weeds along the creek where I walked in. She didn’t spook though. Made a few grunts once the button buck wandered away too far and headed into the woods.

I don’t practice scent control all that much so I’m not really sure how I got away with that one.

The spot unofficially didn't disappoint. Just had a doe and fawn coming directly at me, then something spooked the mama and they bolted, blowing the whole way. I have no idea what spooked her... They hadn't yet cut my entry path, what wind there is, is in my favor. When she booked it, I couldn't actually see either of them so I'm really at a loss for explanation. The sit is probably over, but it sure is a nice night.

13BCF491-10CB-443C-A055-74DC591122C9.jpeg This one gave me a beautiful shot opportunity, but she was small and her fawn was small too. There’s something else hanging up where they came from but I can’t see it.
