Anything really different with the weather? Wind direction, temp or maybe even cloud cover?

They disappeared on the verge of one weather front and then returned on another.... maybe happenstance, maybe an underlying reason as you stated. It's what makes it fun, yet so frustrating.

Any of you IL hunters have an active OnX subscription? Or anyone have a full subscription?

I've never been a person to ask for help, aside from this post  , and not sure how to ask my coworker about bow hunting. Always been that way, hell just took a dryer and an 18 1/2 cubic ft deep freeze down the basement stairs by myself recently. Feels greedy or needy I guess, too proud to ask.

If it's big woods I'll ask with money, I don't expect anything for free.

Drop the pride and make some friends and get some info along the way. Why don’t ya buy a onx subscription, it’s relatively inexpensive for all it offers.

Kind of hard to drop 48 years of being me

I'll buy it if need be, but needing just one particular thing isn't need being for me right now. Think I've bought it the past 3 years, but was using it for where I was hunting not a directory. Plus was nice to see public lands, which may be a reason why I buy it again come November.

Big chest high rubs at the far end of that grass. The "grass" is actually two to three foot high vegetation. Found a slough crossing with more big rubs on the side closest to where I took the pic. I probably didnt go deep enough in the woods but thought that since the corn was 300 yds away, they may stage up right there before crossing the water to the corn. I was wrong. Bunch of trees torn up in a small area.

Have you looked at the county GIS system for property boundary lines? Most decent sized counties have digital mapping systems where you can pan around and check names, addresses, boundary lines, etc for free.

What's your biggest challenge from east coast to midwest?

You have spot stlalking down as well as preseason. You'll get on them, no worries

Hey OND. I went with this one from Lectric. Decent price, they sell a ton and they have a good reputation. As far as gear, I bought the front and rear racks. I'll see if I can strap my climber to the back rack, if it doesn't work out, I guess I'll just carry it on my back. I can also use it to get to a couple of ladder stand setups.
I can throw a backpack on the front rack, and carry my bow with a sling. I don't have super far treks, but I like the idea of being quiet, less scent, and not being a sweaty mess when I get to the tree. The far end of this property is killer and backs up to some really secluded public land, but I sometimes pass on it because of the walk when I'm already exhausted or just feeling lazy

I’m about to walk out the door and head to my tree.

I’ve got 53 minutes until first light.

The weather is calling for showers starting at 8:00, so I guess I’d better take my umbrella along.

I looked into those but wasn't sure how well it would handle our hill. That's the only thing holding me back. That and braking systems for getting off the hill. Even in the car I have to go down in first gear. Otherwise I'd be replacing brakes and rotors more than I do now....I'll be watching to see how you like it this season Best of luck
