The deer are always one step ahead. After further review that’s a different 8pt, so there’s 3 on that ridge now that are arrow contenders. Trying to get it done b4 they get off these acorns. There so concentrated in that one section right now.
I’m back home. It’s 97 degrees and feels like 103, but I’m actually considering climbing a tree at about 6:00 and venting my frustrations on a doe.
Nope my wife works tonight,I’ll b back out there Thursday am. Cams are showing crazy am movement, this is my first year hunting this place. Just gonna keep beating them back to bed and hunting the acorns, they been browsing on them hard.
As Holt mentioned before my hunt on Sunday, the heat bothers us more than it does the deer… I say let it rip!!!
Assuming you’re taking to me, the tree with the gambrel is about 50 yards from my stand and the fridge is another 10 yards after that. Also, I can skin and quarter a deer pretty quickly. When I kill one here it’s usually cut up and in the fridge before rigor starts to set in.
Oh, I wasn’t worried about the heat bothering the deer. It’s me I am worried about. I guess it’s just one of those “embrace the suck” situations.
