I’m up and I’ll head out in about 10 minutes. They’re calling for rain around 6:00 - 7:00, so I’ll be taking my tree umbrella along. I’ll still get wet, but hopefully not soaked.
Set up and waiting on daylight. It’s overcast and pitch black. Hopefully the rain will pass me by but I doubt it.
Left house at 5a.m. took baby steps all the wayin. Heard a snap on bench below me. Then managed my own snap snap 100 ft from stand. Couldn't hear where it spooked any thing. . Dead quiet until birds woke up. Slight SSW breeze. Thank God Thermacell is working well. I wasn't in stand 2 mins and they were all over me... Good luck everyone and send some my way please.
Nothing moving yet. I’m not sure how this front that’s moving through right now will impact travel. It’s spitting rain here and there but I haven’t had to put the umbrella up yet.
Another beautiful day! Good luck guys. I will be joining in for the afternoon hunt. Got 2 spots to check out and which ever one looks best, that's where I will sit.
I'm back in, thermacell ran out of fuel holy Hanna! Besides I had a bad feeling about the snap I heard, thought they"d already past through and were headed to the lower bean plot. No they were leaving lower plot and coming up. they walked in not 5 mins after I walked through even crossing my path... there was two nice big doe with a fawn that passed by camera. Now I at least know they are there and staying until shooting hour..also in evening. they also have a friend....remember ignore dates /time
Its raining a bit now and I'll have a 10mph wind. Wet ground and wind and I'll be able to get in real tight. Temps going to rise big time and not looking forward to boiling swamp water and mosquitoes. Lol! Still debating....
This heat will be rough. But the deer don't care, they still do what they do. I will just endure it. Plus side is it does keep the pressure down from other hunters. The other night of dragging out that doe, I pushed myself a little to far. One and half hours of dragging in this heat was enough. I cramped alot and one of my legs just about stopped working. I had to stop and chug water. So definitely bring extra water with you guys, just in case.
Came across this guy out hanging a cam today. In the 90s this week so I doubt I will be hunting at all. Just too hot with the humidity. Sent from my SM-G990U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
