One last one. Trapping season closes today. 6 coons total off our property. Not bad considering it's the first year we trapped. 123_1(1).jpeg

I wish I could have had pics of the one I caught that my son botched the netting on. It was at least seven pounds. Probably closer to eight.

I fought it to the boat and Jonathan tried to net it one handed while holding his fishing rod. The weight of the fish rolled the net to the left and it slid out. For just a moment one treble hook was caught in the net and the other was in its mouth. Then the hook tore loose and off it went.

I’m still not sure who was more upset, but it was probably my son.

Riding in on the train this morning to work in the tall buildings...and I see a big ol Coyote sunning himself (yeah, gender assumed) pretty close to the city. Great sight, wish I had gotten a pic...or a shot.

The pin, where I saw it, relative to my office...

Genuinely curious, why? Never heard of shooting Starlings other than boy getting a little carried away with a pellet rifle.

There are some great videos out there on what damage they cause to agriculture and the native bird species. It also keeps me sharp.

It was 77 degrees when I got home this afternoon from fishing a hidden farm pond on one of my old leases. It always produces some good crappie early.

Headed to the Minnesota Deer & Turkey classic next weekend with a group of guys. Not sure if anyone else in here is in the area but thought I would mention it!

I hate trespassers and I don't even own land that can be hunted.

Cant wait till I can get to live in a state where you can fish open water in the winter in 50 degree temps. 4 more years. Looking at northern Alabama. Vermont can keep these snowy, icy, cold winters and then Spring and Fall mud season.

Great retirement taxes, lots of deer, warm winters, low population, good fishing opportunities, I can hike year round.

Great answer. It's a beautiful area, but you're probably the only person I've heard say I wanna retire to N Alabama.
