Took the band I shot the end of this season and stuck it on one of my other mounts. Now it's a classy wood duck. View attachment 163253 Sent from my SM-G990U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
That turned out really well. I have not shot a wood duck, it is the only duck I would mount if I get one. They are beautiful.
Today's lunch walk only produced a rub nest. Found a few old stands too. Nice day to get out there. Sent from my SM-G990U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I made one more trip to Wattensaw WMA this morning. When I left the river wasn’t supposed to close it until Monday. They got more heavy rain and now it will be closed Saturday. I just got set up for the afternoon in one of my old stand-by spots. I have this afternoon and all day tomorrow and then my season will be finished.
Can’t believe I got my mount back already from my buck this September! Super happy with the quality and the amazing turn time! Anyone in MD that needs a butcher Mike at Cutchings Trail in White hall does an amazing job and is a great dude! Now the office looks complete!
No sheds today on my lunch run. Did find some wood ducks though. Anyway out in the field is better than being in the office Sent from my SM-G990U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Beautiful Buck! Congrats. I love that we can keep our memories on the wall as well as eat the meat in our sport.
I'm in NJ. It's the last two days of the season, but I didn't bring my bow. Already shot my Winter Bow Buck, so all I can shoot is antlerless. I wont do that now cause you are either shooting a Doe that's three months pregnant with twins or triplets OR a shed Buck that I could kill next year with a nice set of horns. SOOOO, I'll be out walking new ground and shed hunting this afternoon and tomorrow. Pics to come if I find some sheds.
It was a lead doe. Shot was slightly quartering to and the hit was a touch back. Probably the back of the onside lung and liver. She ran about 30 yards and stood for a while and then very slowly walked into the switchback cane and I lost sight of her. She’s hurt bad and I don’t think she went far so I’m going to stay in the tree until at least an hour after the shot. I can see the arrow 30 yards away with my binoculars. It’s nice and bloody.
