I will probably be out this afternoon, but zero prospects. Might just sit the last hour behind my house. Taking off work tomorrow for a special 3 day primitive hunt. Decided to take a old side lock muzzleloader with iron sights for that. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
I've totally enjoyed following this thread this year. It's really cool how we can all follow each others hunts and lean into each other for opinions and guidance. You all are a great bunch of people that I would consider to be my friends. I hope everyone has enjoyed it as much as I have.
No, broadcast them in as the corn was towards the end with a good rain, just didn't get enough rain for them to do real well. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
I will be heading in about hour and half. Going out as long as I can on a primitive muzzleloader hunt. Meeting up with a buddy and going to stalk a few areas. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Also got the first dusting of snow, will help out with spotting deer. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
On the same property that I shot at that buck on Sunday. No sign of him. Now back in here in day light, there was a huge branch that I didn't see. Pretty sure I hit that, but still can't find my arrow. Some else did the same thing as me, but they contected. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
You guys are awesome. It's been a pleasure talking with all of you. Feb 1st - 8 months until the MI bow opener!!!! I've got plans....big plans! The farmer took out all the tree lines in April and May and put in 2 center pivots. This means no more beans and no corn cut for silage. I need to move almost every stand I currently have up and put up 4 more - 12 total on a 120 acres. Threee of the stands will be in spots I really haven't hunted before. I am growing crab apple trees. I WAS going to plant them in the tree lines, but they're no longer there....so I will need to figure that out. I'm looking at switching sites - going with the Spot Hogg Fast Eddie 2 vertical pin MRT and likely a stabilizer. I'm getting bored shooting shorter distances. I can't shoot farther than 50 yards at my house. I'd like to practice 100+ yards at a friends this summer, just for fun. I hope you all have a great archery practice and preparedness season.
Been stuck at home in this icepocalypse the last couple of days. Decided to get it a little shooting in during the freezing temps. The ice on the bushes has it obscuring the target. Good to know I can shoot through light brush without it messing up the trajectory. Shots from 25 and 40.
Been a fun year everyone, I’m officially done chasing deer. Making the transition to predator hunting and then shed hunting.
