The wind is all over the place, which is a surprise. It was supposed to be very windy with a SW wind. This isn’t good.
I'm heading in for the last 45 minutes. Got one particular doe I'm after and she showed up the last 2 days. Going in for the kill! Good luck LC! Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Just a fawn came by. The big doe was a no show. Got stuck in the stand by the fawn, finally had to scare her. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
I left all my gear in the tree last night like I usually do and I really wish I hadn’t. First, it poured rain last night. It wasn’t supposed to. Second, I stayed up and watched the Cowboys beat the Buccaneers. I got to bed about 11:00. The 4:30 alarm was painful. I woke up not feeling quite right. I don’t know if I ate something bad or I’m just sick but I made multiple bathroom visits before I felt like heading out. I headed out a little later than I like. I parked, unloaded the bike and headed out. It’s a mile ride down the old railroad bed and there are two creeks to cross. Yesterday the water was about boot deep in the deeper one and I could ride through it. I got to the shallower creek this morning and knew I wouldn’t be able to cross the deep creek. I rode back to the truck, loaded the bike and drove around to the other way in. It’s a 1 1/2 mile ride and the road is an unholy mess after it rains. There is one place where beavers have damned a drainage and I have to go around it through the woods. I slipped and slid all the way in and finally got set up 20 minutes before daylight. I’m sitting here now feeling kind of crappy and dreading the ride out carrying all of my gear and my Summit Viper.
Sorry, Johnny, but I laughed. I'm just jealous though. Good luck this morning! Edit to say I wasn't laughing about you not feeling well. That part sucks.
Nah, if my bow and pack hadn’t been in the tree I’d have said “screw it” and gone back to sleep. Im feeling better now and I’ve been sitting here thinking if I kill one it’s gonna be an adventure.
The hit was low. She ran a bit then walked out to 63 yards wagging her tail and laid down. Five minutes later a four point walked up to her, pawed at her and she got up and walked east. She’s hurting.
