I saw what happened yesterday down south. I pray all our southern hunters ,friends and family are safe and undamaged. I pray for all those effected.
    God Bless

I’ve had about enough of this 15 mph north wind in my face. Maybe I’m getting old and soft but I’m colder this morning than I was when it was so cold in December.

I haven’t seen a deer so I’m climbing down. Missouri was pretty good to me this season.

Gonna try to sneak in on a slight off wind. I Put it at 50 50 that I blow them out of there. This may be my last hunt.

Had to adjust as two young hunters were headed into the area I wanted to hunt. I had a plan B in place.

Didn't see a thing but did meet some good fellas in the parking lot. Been going Full bore since July scouting and hunting. Time to take a little rest and then start the scouting next week.

Had to laugh to myself yesterday. Was about to head in when I met two younger hunters in the parking lot. Good guys. They were removing their clothes from trash bags and had perfect matching camo, frame packs to carry their sticks and stand set ups, and had what looked to be big time bow set ups. Here I am wearing a collection of 15 year old unmatched camo clothes, an older bow, and a beat up old climbing stand. Haha.

I was talking about the Hunting Public guys yesterday about how they dress and have kind of started to upgrade some of their camo now that they've blown up a bit. Don't matter what you're wearing tho. As an industry, some of this crap is out of hand tho, cost wise.

I’m up, had to wait for 3 doe to move on b4 getting into my stand. I shoulda got in around 12 today. Had a young buck come to 40 and bed down, I’m sitting on the edge of a ridge and the field they been hammering. I would like to hold out for a buck but if a nanny gives me a shot I’ll take it, NW wind in the face, fresh dusting on the ground. Good luck !

I don’t regret spending close to $1000 on camo this last year… but I do think about it. A LOT. Hoping to get 10 years out of my First Lite stuff before having to invest again.

Buddy offered me a 2021 fully loaded Bear bow for $700. Might bite the bullet and do it. Shooting a 2013 Bear I got for $300 off Facebook marketplace.

Becoming more willing to spend $$ on gear the more I realize how much time I actually spend in the field or in the stand.

I still have 2 Oneidas from around the mid 80s and a bear recurve I think I bought around 1979...they aren't speed demons by today's standards but more than capable of putting a deer down.

BTW not sure your FL will make it 10yrs. My thinner base pieces are about shot after about 5 years. I lost the zipper on my Halstead fleece arm pocket this year...

I'm up. On my farthest spot I possibly can hunt. I left the truck at 1:20 and got here and setup by 3. Sucks if I shot one out here, but running out of places that have deer. While setting up had 3 guys walk by about 100 yards out, think they were duck hunters heading to the north side of the island. Don't think they will mess me up.

I’m up for my last sit of the PA season. I just need a mature buck or doe to come by.

My travel trailer is loaded, hooked up and ready to head to Arkansas tomorrow morning. I had a heck of a time getting it ready since apparently I didn’t do a good job of winterizing it. It took about an hour to get the water lines thawed enough to work.

Even the Keurig finally found thawed out and worked. That’s a good thing. Coffee is almost more important than running water.
