Congrats! Should have at least made him drag it 15 feet, with the impression of dragging it the full walk out, before quartering and packing it out
Nothing better then getting children into hunting, puts such a smile on their face and such a sense of accomplishment in their persona. Congrats again!
I don't have any deer mounts on my walls or deer pics around the house, but every so often I'll look at some racks I've collected over the years and old pics on my computer and feel very grateful I've had the opportunity to hunt for so long. Looking at some my recent pics I look like an old man compared to just 10 years ago! Haha
I hear that! I have some pictures from 5 years ago and my beard has zero Grey in it. Where'd that guy go? Lol. Time marches on.
VT - way to go! Must have been a great shot. Cantex - Congrats to your son. A great memory for sure. MN - sorry you haven't shot that buck, but it's nice he's been sharing his genes for so long. Hopefully you'll recognize some of his sons!
Nothing wrong with that! Congrats on agood eating buck. I know we've been enjoying the 2 I got. Far tastier than tag soup
Scouted for a bit. Went in specifically to see if I could find any sign of that big buck I was close to killing on Nov 9. This area is susceptible to flooding and tracks easily come and go. Took me awhile but I found one big track in an old scrape. In my experience that is a big buck track. Not sure if it's him but that was only about 300 yds from where I saw him and where he was headed last time..believe he is bedding in this mess on private.....field in front/water behind/thick cover...Also found a massive tree....probably 8 feet across. Incredible.
I'm going to try and leave work early to get out for an evening sit. Good luck this morning if you're out.
Congrats to the killers. Awesome job. Esp that young man @cantexian 's son. I give you all credit for staying after it. I've moved on to running my winter archery league.
